Does anyone have the seat rack installed on their bike? The one that replaces the pillion pad. How sturdy is it and how much weight can it hold.

Thanks,
Hugh

Hugh....
I was looking at this one at jcpenny and wondering if it would fit our bikes. I think I like it better than the one triumph offers.

Hugh,
I’ve got it on mine. It’s pretty sturdy. At different times I have used it to strap on a duffle bag, 18 packs of beer and some rather large boxes.

I have one, The posted weigh limit is 3kg but am sure that you could get away with more. The only thing I don't like( apart from the price) is that there is no-where to hook bungy cords. I have resorted to using the tops of the suspension posts & the indicator (turn signal) stalks. If I need to carry heavy items, have to fit the standard luggage rack.

I've got one. I usually toss a duffle over it and then run straps down to my EZ bracket posts. Fairly sturdy, a little wiggle side to side but I think that is because I have it OVER my front seat tab, nut under it. There are two little rubber tabs on the front flange that are supposed to stabilize it, I might need to make them a little thicker to really stabilize it. That JCwhitney one looks good, if they had dimensions I could tell you if it would fit.

Hugh,

In the archives is a post on an alternate rack from HD, I think, which fits with you only having to enlarge the hole near the rear for them to line up. I've done this but I can't find the part number and I did a quick look in the archives without success. If you've got the time go looking for it, it's a lot cheaper than the Triumph one.
