Hi all. am in my fifth day of my CA. vacation. Took your advise and have been in the wind for four of those days. First I rented a Street Glide in Vacaville, rode it for two days through the Napa Valley and Lake Berryessa area. Day three and four were on a Softtail Delux in the lower Sierras, almost made it to Yosemite, but didn't quite make it. I will post more when I get to NJ. Am on a motel computer now. Just gorgeous riding and weather. TR

Let us know how everything went and how those bikes felt.

Have you tried riding on highway 1 from San Francisco to Santa Cruz? The weather on the penninsula is not the best now.

Hey Tom
Keep us updated.
Were you carrying all your gear or were you based somewhere and only carrying stuff each day?

Would the bikes you had be suitable for carrying, say, a weeks worth of gear (I know different people manage with less than others) or would you suggest a big tourer for that - like the Electra Glide Classic?

How comfortable were they?

Adey, For a week I would suggest a bigger bike than I had. The Delux rode better than the Glide, which was surprising. The Delux also had aftermarket pipes, which were nice. TR
