Has anyone heard the new collaboration released last month between Mark Knopfler and Emmy Lou Harris? It's called "All The Road Running." Just curious to see if it would be worth a listen.

Some one else mentioned that on his thread. Interesting collaberation. I will look out for it. Cant imagine anything involving Mark Knopfler not being worth listning to. The guys a musical genius. IMHO

JB & Mark - Yes Knopfler & Emmylou's collaboration is all you could imagine it would be.

EADGBE - Bettye LaVette - Hell yeah - I've Got My Own Hell to Raise is an awesome album. She's playing NYC next month.

OK, I admit it I remember Kitty "What's My Line" Carlisle also . And from Kerwood Derby fame, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Natasha (always had a "thing" for Natasha, very hot stuff, however I was only 6 months old at the time .).

Hey Wojo, Old Wolf, where did the those guys live in Canada anyhow? I always figured BC for some reason, but maybe the NW Territories. I always assumed Natasha was Canadian by birth and simply fell in with the wrong crowd, but that Boris Baddenoff probably moved north from the states to dodge some jail time.

I've never heard of Joe Bonamassa but Blind Faith released only one album (outstanding). I haven't listened to it in years and will be finding it tomorrow. Ah, nostalgia...

I found this reference to the derivation of the Blind Faith cover art:

http://www.angelfire.com/wi/blindfaith/vvcov69.html

(I just researched Joe and comparisons are made to Steve Winwood. I WILL be checking his music out! Thanks newt / mert!!!)

Man, I miss Roy. What a sad circumstance led to his death. Got to see him play a few times. Most poignantly, just a couple of months before he died, at a free concert in Connecticut. Just don't recall if it was the New Haven Green or The Guilford Green.

Dave, ring any bells for you?

I think Roy is the reason I dig the Telecaster so much.

Awesome, I sold off all but one Strat and never play my Les Pauls anymore. Electric, I pretty much just play Teles and the occasional Harmony jazzbox.

That's kinda funny, I used to work for Angry every time he'd play Zeno's at State College, PA. I used to be the house sound guy there.

Michael Murphy's "Geronimo's Cadillac."can only find one version of this song and it's not the original; from album of same name. Hasn't been released on CD. I just don't like the over produced version that came out after he added the Martin in the middle.

Hold on. I take that back. I just checked ShAmazon. Digitally remastered, in Austrailia, and now available on CD. KaChing.

You know how it is, when a song gets in your head--and it has to be a certain way--and you don't get to hear it--and it goes on and on in your head--like the impossible itch. Then when you finally do hear it. Ahhhhh, the itch subsides.

Love Angry Johnny and the KillBillies. I try to catch them everytime they come to this area.

Indian Motorcycle, Jerry Lynn, Did I see you, take it on the run, best girl in the world, walpole prison blues, baker's farm, trains don't run, only thing he said.

All awesome songs.

Hey Mert, I did sound for what I believe was Roy's last
show at the Guilford Fair Grounds. It was when I was working
for Johnny Winter(10 years). He was managed, at the time,
by the same guy as Johnny. After the show, I took him out
for drinks. He was a great guy, we did alot of shows
together. I know details of the events leading up to his
untimely death. We'll talk about it sometime.

Charlie

Ditto on the Telle.
If I remember correctly, it was about 2 weeks later.

Great thread. Reading each thread brought back a lot of old, good memories. I am in a time warp (70's) too, but like some newer music. When I saw someone post Rush 2112, it made me laugh. I listened to that yesterday.

Angel, Judas Priest, Stones, REO Speedwagon, Montrose. I see someone posted Uriah Heep. Wow, haven't heard anything from them in a long time. Have to download some tunes from them.

The Wizard by Uriah Heep is one of my all time favorite songs, It was the 1st song I taught my kids to play on the guitar. I just bought my son a new set of drums for graduation, so now he can bring some of his young friends over to jam. [easier to keep my eye on him that way ]He'll be 18 in August, SCARY!!

Love this thread, glad I saw it. I noticed Damon Fowler and Albert Castiglia on Newts list....couple of local blues guys here in Florida, whom I've had the pleasure of seeing sit in with my favorite band, The Radiators. Since they allow taping, I usually have a live CD of theirs in my player. In fact, I almost always listen to taped live shows, downloaded from the etree archive, which is completely legal and only used by bands that allow this form of distribution. The Grateful Dead have always allowed this, although they have removed any shows with Soundboard feeds. Also, love The subdudes.

Anyway, currently in player:

1. Live Radiators show (don't know date/venue)
2. Live subdudes show (don't know date/venue)
3. Live Grateful Dead (don't know date/venue, sometime late 70s)
4. Live Acoustic Tommy Malone\Anders Osbourne
5. Theresa Andersson - Shine

Theresa Anderson

Theresa is terrific, beautiful, and a very accomplished violinist.

The bottom line is, support LIVE music, especially local stuff, if you can. Where would we be without the music?

Oh, and if you are interested, try downloading some stuff from the archive....its free, and you may be suprised by the amount of stuff there for the taking.
