Hi guys; I really did try using the Search feature, but I could not find the info I was looking for, really hope you guys can help me out. I am in the process of buying a 2002 TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE AMERICA. From everything I have seen and read I don't think I can go wrong here. Just 1 catch. My fiance has ridden behind bikes before, and loves cruisers. She says that the best ride she has ridden was on the back of a Harley, something about the seat being extremely comfortable. Now me buying the bike is a surprise for her,and will literally blow her away. So my question is will she be disappointed in the rear comfort on the bike I have chosen? She is 5 ft 9 Inches and weighs in at about 150lbs give or take a few pounds(Hopefully she never comes on this site or I am DEAD) . Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Keep on riding

I would start by narrowing your search to the accessories forum, and then expand the time frame to a year, then also type in Corbin. I think you'll find the stock passenger pad is awefull. My girlfriend of remarkably similar build, LOVES the Corbin rear seat. It's actually shaped to fit a bum...

We will need to see the "bum" in question to properly tell you what type of seat you will need.
we should do this every weekend!

Depends on the type of riding you plan on doing. I'd suggest letting her try the stock seat for a while. She may just love it for the type of riding you do, or you may wind up having to invest in an aftermarket seat. As a comparison, my wife rode on the back of my Ninja for years without any complaints.. that is basically a 1/4" sheet of foam stretched across a narrow plastic plate and covered with vinyl. I'm sure something else would have been called for if we did any extensive long distance cruising, but it was fine for around town weekend cruises (100-200 miles). The stock seat on the America may be just fine for what you want, so give it a whirl before throwing more money at it Cheers, Brad

Di liked the touring pillion from Triumph better than the stock seat but she really loves the Corbin.. says it makes all the difference in the world.

The touring seat on my Speedmaster was a big success.

We added the Triumph touring pillion, great addition. I also have the tall backrest. We sat on an Electra-Glide a few months ago. Wife was not happy. The HD seat/pegs/riders position was all wrong for her, forcing her legs to be splayed out a lot farther than on our America. On the HD, she was also a lot closer to me, which didn't help. Since adding the touring pillion, she hasn't complained.

Yep, he will fit right in here!
My wife HATED to stock seat and loves the Corbin. She will actually ride with me!
One question I have is, which HD did she love?

I assume the 2006 stock pillion is the same as the other years. Triumph has put a "luggage" compartment in the seat. It is not good to carry anything more than a D/L, but it leaves a void. My daughter is fine on it but my wife who is heavier (sorry no pictures!!!) bottoms out. I have bought a bicycle gel seat cover, cut it in half and stuffed it in the "luggage" area. That seems to work OK. However.....does anyone that has gone to a corbin have a touring pillion for sale? I think she would like to try that PM me with a price!

Salocin, The first time she rides on your bike as a passenger will probably be the last. She will find the nearest wiffle ball bat and chase you around the yard opening a can of whoop a$$ on you. You had better order the Corbin passenger pillion yesterday. That is the worst excuse for a passenger seat on the planet & whoever designed it at Triumph should have one on top of a stool at their desk to sit on for about a year.

my wife could not stand the stock pillion for more than a 1/2 hour.I brought it to an auto upholstery shop and had them rebuild it. they replaced the foam with a high density foam which is supposed to offer better comfort for the long rides. He also shaped it wider and flat like a seat should be.Unfortunately it has been too cold for her to ride so I can't say how she likes the ride, but it has to be better than the stock. It cost me $100,and he can easily reshape it to her liking if need be. mike
