Sometimes my son drives me nuts. Ok, so he is only nine (just about 10). I have one of the Need for Speed games for the Game Cube. Now here is the part that makes me nuts. The kid won't race. All he wants to do is wreck his car and try to wreck the computer cars in the game. It makes me crazy because that isnt the point of the game. So, does anyone know of any demolition derby type games for the Game Cube?

My Son (now 11 going on 35) used to do the same thing took a cpl of years but now he races...must just be the age...also he used to drive the NASCAR thunder game backwards against the trafic to wreck the cars! Which I must admitt was fun a few times!

Maybe he doesn't like racing games. Maybe he is just playing that way because he knows it's just a game and games aren't serious so he's just having fun with it. My guess is, either way, he is just being a kid because that's what his job is at 9 years old. My kids were and still are the same way when it comes to games of any kind. They (even the teenagers) will do whatever they can to not take games too seriously and make them the most fun they can. Go with it and enjoy his silliness instead of going nuts. If you look hard enough, e may help you see the kid inside of you in the process.

Okay Soren... here are some ideas for games.
Monster Jam Maximum Destruction. I don't do video games much myself but I do play this one with all of my kids (ages 8-18). It's a blast. All about destroying each others well built weapon filled monster trucks. Very fun and the higher the volume the better.
My 18 year old suggests these also as he plays all the time with his younger siblings, friends, etc.
Smashing Drive, Nascar Dirt to Daytona, and Burnout 2: Point of Impact (I guess this one has crash courses where you try to do as much damage as you can in an accident). He said if you have PS1, PS2 or N64 to try Destruction Derby. Also for Game Cube is a game called Rampage:Total Destruction that he said would be cool but has nothing to do with vehicles.

Just ran over to Game Crazy and picked up Smashing Drive and Wrecked - The Yakuza Missions. So far he likes them being able to drive and have to run over stuff.
I do have a PS1, so maybe I'll have to find something for that too.
While over at Game Crazy, I did pick up one of those Game Boy Player things so we can play Game Boy games on the Game Cube.

A buddy of mine has "The Simpsons" game on PS2 and you can drive vehicles into or over anything or anybody. Thats actually the point of the game. You can be Homer or Bart or other characters I think. It is quite a bit of fun, you get to demolish pretty much anything you see but somehow it doesn't seem quite so violent as some other games I've seen. I believe they make it for game cube as well but I'm not 100% on that.
