For those interested I found a website that had the cheapest garage door remotes anywhere I looked. So if you want to do one like TC18 did or just a small keychain
remote for in your pocket. I found one for $10.00 for my Sears opener.

The Sears remotes all seem to be for the older models where the codes are set by using tiny dip switches in the remote to match the opener. I had to replace my opener a year or so ago and it has a "rolling code" system.... they don't seem to offer any of those on that site. Bummer....

Site doesn't have an application for the Genie Intellicode openers, too bad.
I bought a Genie key-chain remote from Lowes, wired to a momentary switch. Put the button on the plastic key surround, ran the remote by the airbox and weatherproofed. Now I just touch the button to open/close.

For the Sears openers you will have to use the "mini" remote as there isn't much room under that cover. I bought one from E-bay for $17 including shipping and about another $5 for the switch.
Works like a charm. Now I don't have to spend all that energy putting down the kickstand and walking 12 paces to the inside door switch. Whew!! The first day home after install it was sprinkling as I came up the drive, it was all smiles.
