Hi, I have a taillight out, its not the bulb, I traced the wire to under the seat, but not sure what happens once it goes under the tank. Would anyone out there have a wire diagram I could use? or has this happenned to any of you? Tail is out, but not the brake?

My experience with the tailight is... It is connected to the little lights in the speedometer.
I was blowing the fuse and once I replaced the bulbs in the speedometer all was well.
Try this first and check your fuse. It has blown twice on me when the speedo bulbs blow.

I took delivery of mine with a short that was found inside the headlight wiring bundle. It was shorting and blowing the fuse/tail light out. Fixed under warranty.

Thank you all for your rewplies and the link., I actually tested the bulbs, which are good, but not working, neither is that small bulb under the headlight. The whole circuit appears to be dead, but the wires all tested good. I found no shorts. For some reason, the tailight works when the ignition is in park, but it does not work when the ignitiotn is in the run position. I am pulling outy my arempit hair since there is none on my head. any pointers?

You've got a bad ground or a bad connection somewhere. You'll just have to trace them one by one to find it. Where ever there's a plug-in type connector, unplug and replug it, look at the pins when it's unplugged. Any type of connection at all, undo it and redo it. Could be the ignition switch or kill switch too.

Is the ignition switch and killswitch connected to the taillight? I dont understand. I know that the taillight works when the ignition is in the "park" position. But not when it is running. Weird problem. and since it works while in the "p" postion, i have to assume that there is no short or bad ground. Am I way off?

The power supply for the tail light and the park light appears to come from the number two terminal on the ignition switch, to the fuse block, to the two lights.

Get some dielectric grease, mix a little Raid in it, and smear it on the switch.....
