I've been trying windshield options for my America. I want to replace my Summer Screen with something taller but don't want a large roadster style screen. I tried the WindVest but didn't like the wind hitting me on the sides of my neck (not quite wide enough). I was looking at the Memphis Shades Classic Deuce. It has handlebar mounts, a 7" headlight cutout, and is 18 1/2" above the headlight which would be about perfect for me (6'). Is anyone using one of these or know for sure if it will fit ok? Because it has to be bought and ordered by a dealer, I may not be able to return it if it doesn't work out. Any input would be appreciated. Memphis Shades Classic Deuce

Thanks for the input Rob, after trying the WindVest, I liked the idea of the handlebar mounts. Just wanted to be sure it would fit the TA, work and look good. The key is the mounting hardware allowing it to be adjusted around the speedo, headlight, etc.

How about buffeting? I am concerned that the considerable buffeting I get from my current Viper shield is going to cause me to go deaf! Would like something smaller than a roadster but with less buffeting than the usual summer shield. Cost is also a concern as I will only use it on very long trips.
Asking too much, or is there an option?

Yes, there is an option. I tried the Windvest which didn't work for me, and definitely wanted something not as big as the Roadster Screen. Clearview Shields has made one replacement for the TA/SM Summer Screen and I tried it. It eliminated the buffeting off the top (I'm 6' tall) but they made it larger at the bottom and it didn't look good on the bike. They are currently making another for me (custom) that I think they will be offering if it works and looks good. It will be almost identical to the Summer Sceen except 3 3/4" taller making it 17" tall (18" above the headlight) with a slight recurve at the top. When that one gets in (2-3 weeks), I'll take pictures and post results on this forum.
Meanwhile, I was trying to find out if anyone had tried the Memphis Shades Deuce. It looked good, but don't know how effective it would be on our bikes.

Thinking about getting Memphis Shades. Question: On the Suzuki Marauder mounts I'd need for the Alley Cats, what quickly disconnects? Is it just the windscreen, and the mounts stay attached, or does the whole thing (windscreen & mount) quickly disconnect? It's important to me that I can restore the bike quickly to it's sleeker, windshield-less/mounting bracket-less look.

For the Alley Cats mounting system, the "clamps" (qty 4) remain attached to the forks...the mounting brackets(qty 2) stay attached to the windshield when removed.
So, to remove the windshield, you use an allen wrench on each of the clamps to loosen them. Then remove the windshield w/mounts and retighten the allen screws.

How about that Deuce? Or Alley Cat? Either of you try one yet? Would either (or both?) work with the Triumph Light Bar?

I have the viper and get no buffeting at all. I think it's all in the adjustment. I'm 6'.

I ordered a Memphis Shades 15" Slim windshield and the Suzuki Marauder mounting hardware that mounts to the forks. I installed the windshield tonight and it fits great. It looks like a quality setup and it was a good price. It also looks good on my Speedie, as it does not overpower the bike. I ordered the 15" because I am 5'8" and I like to look over the windshield not through it. I will ride the bike to work tomorrow and see how it does. The quick release system works good also. I tried taking the windshield on and off and it took me all of 30 seconds, so it will be easy to take the windshield off when I am not freeway riding. You do have to be careful when mounting the hardware onto the forks for the first time. There are two ways the brackets will go on, and if you put them on the wrong way, they will hit the tank when you are on full lock.
