Went to go on a ride, filled my tank up. About 10 miles down the road, it sputtered,so put it on reserve. After a while sputtered on reserve. We checked the hoses, filter, drained the tank, removed the petcock, checked it and the bike ran fine. Some thought it might be a vapor lock issued, but the tank vent seemed ok.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
Seems to run fine now.

It sounds as the vent hose can't breath. Check that it isn't pinched under the tank.

could be a little water in the gass or the "hidden" fuel filter in the carbs. or the vent hose.

I'll have to look at the hidden fuel filter in the carbs. I have an inline filter installed currently.

Is the hidden fuel filter shown in the manual?

Thanks

Deb,
Not sure if the hidden filter is shown in the manual.
Follow the fuel line down from the petcock to where it connects to a T between the carbs. Pull line off of T.
Hidden filter is inside here.
Page 9.6 of my manual shows the hose in top part of the picture but filter not shown. It will be in the bottom end of this hose.

Hey thanks guys. I think the problem was a pinched drain hose under the tank. I did take that little filter out. That wasn't the problem though. I put a new inline fuel filter on and put everything back together and it ran. LOL
Not to bad for a GIRL. Ha Ha. I will see if it holds up on a long ride today.

Thanks gain.
