Does anyone know where the valve shims could be purchased other than at a stealership?

Based on what Moe is saying about Yamaha V-Max shims being the same diameter as the shims we need, you can buy them from a place like bikebandit, that provides OEM support for Yamaha. Just for grins, I looked up shims on bikebandit, for a V-max, and they can be had for about $10 a pop, but that's not always as economical as buying them through a dealer. If there were shim kits available for the V-max online, that might be a possibility too.

Thanks, I kenw that Yamaha used similar shims but I didn't know the model. RonAyers has the shims fro $7.61 a piece.

The problem with getting shims is the hassle of going to the delaership as much as the cost. This is especially true with Triumph dealerships which are 1 hour away from me.

One last note, the Yamaha shims come in .05mm increments. The Truimph manual says their shims are supplied in .025mm increments. I just went one step up as all of my valves were loose.
