Finally got an old scanner working and so I tested it out with a pic of my Honda CB750 I used to have. Some might call this bike the one that killed Triumph, but I think it was more of a case of Triumph spinning their wheels.

Those old hondas were hard to beat for the price, pretty quick and very dependable. I still have my 1980 Cb650c.. in pieces but I still have it. Another one of those unfinished projects. But maybe someday...

They were cool bikes and the choppers that were made from those engines were awesome. At least I think they were.

I remember in the middle 70's debating myself between the Honda 750 and Bonneville 750, even considered a sporty. Ultimately went with the Bonneville. I stopped questioning the why part long ago. But those older Hondas were and are pretty nice. And yes, they look good stretched out a bit.

jeff2,
My friend out in California called me a few months back. He was as proud as a puppy. He had just sold his 1970 in only 1 day. He's had it since new and it was like brand new, totally stock and ran perfect with about 15k miles on her. he was all excited because it had sold for $500 to the first guy to stop in. He started at $800 and the guy gives him the old wave of five new 100 dollar bills and says that's all he had. (Yea, been there, done that) Said the guy quickly pushed the bike down the street home and came back later for his car. I guess he wanted to get it out of there before Mark changed his mind, or realised what a steal he just made.
I didn't have the heart to tell him he just threw away at least another grand, maybe 1500. The bike was absolutely beautiful, for an old classic.
