That's a tall order Janine . You would have to install a sensor in the tank, and its accuracy would be suspect because the fuel moving around in the tank would be giving variable information. I know some high-end bikes have them, but their value is questionable.
The best method is get to know your bikes fuel range to reserve, and use the trip odometer to know when to fill up.

Oh and BTW, Welcome!!

when you have to switch to reserve, you have just about a gallon (3.78 liters) of gas left.

I just use my trip meter and the sound of the bike. The sound method may not work with stock pipes. My bike starts to lean out a mile or two before needing to switch to reserve and starts popping on decel. I know shortly reserve will be needed. FWIW, I've gone over 30 miles on reserve, not on purpose! (rural NY)

My Ninja has a fuel guage and it is pretty darn accurate.. when the needle hits the red, it's time to fill up.. As for fitting one on the Triumph, forget about it unless you have more money than you know what to do with Like everyone else said, just use your odo.

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks Bill & all for your suggestions. Guess i'll just have to keep an eye on the tripmeter.

Glad to hear it. A friend of mine had a Suzuki Blvd. His warning light came on at half a tank. I guess some are OK, and some aren't .

If you have a friend who's a top-notch panel beater and has a lot of spare time they could probably fit a sender to your tank for you. Of course they probably wouldn't be your friend anymore if they did.

The more complicated some thing is the more that can break down, that's what dad always was saying.Look at your OD know were your pet cock is when you start spudering then put in resurve and you got about 40 miles to get to a gas station.Works every time !

Why don't you just buy a tank that has a fuel guage setup (HD, Honda Yamaha,etc.. and fab it to fit your bike.....Angelis

When all Triumph bikes go Fuel Injected we may see a warning light. Petcocks will be made redundant.
