I returned my footboard bad finish ie pitmarks in chrome and general poor finish to my Dealer, after speaking to triumph First who said they would replace them with another new set and they would open and check them first before dispatch to check them. My dealer phone me a week later to say they had arrived on opening the box a used and scuffed set was inside. What do you think of that Guys and girls

I went through the same crap with my cam cover. I refused the one on the floor and made them order me a new one. It was worse than the floor one. I ordered another and they told me if I didn't take it they would charge me 15%. I kept the 3rd, which was slightly better, but still crappy. One day I may just have it re-done. Triumph chrome sux!!! Good thing it was paid for with the free voucher otherwise I would not have paid for it.

I think the best thing to do is get your stock parts chromed. The cost is about the same as buying a new part but you will be much happier. There was a guy on this forum that chromed parts at a reasonable price.

The boards chrome quality doesn't really mean much after you drag them a few times.

Dinqua's right. My father-in-law builds a lot of his own parts for his Harley and then takes them to a guy to get them chromed. It's not that much, when I look at the cost of new chrome parts I have wondered what it would be just to pull off the originals and have them plated. That's my plan anyway.

By any means, whenever possible, have your stock parts plated.
Always works better for me anyhow.

Probably about $70 or so to have them chromed.

I just have to wonder if the second set was swapped onto an employees bike...
