Harley, Honda Davidson, Yamaharley, Suzukaharley. Man! unless going real slow I have not a clue anymore what I am looking at. A girl comes up behind me this morning on a 1200 sportster or soft tail I am thinking, she passes me and its a V-star.

Am I the only one that has to look long and hard to figure out what it is? And all the names! I have also noticed that Honda and Yamaha are making the name plates really tini, almost hidden for obvious reasons.

One of the few times I feel sorry for Harley owners. While in motion they just blend in with every other bike. Nothing unique at all except the price tag.

I ride everyday. If I can't tell em apart, you know the citizens have no clue you are on a chromed out heritage softail xlshfxhsvsls-M50-Sabre-Sprint-Roadwhatever V-star, whatever lol. To them they are all Harleys wether they are or not.

Oh, Dwight will ask this anyhow. The girl was really hot, long blonde hair flowing in the breeze and the bike was beautiful too.

Being a shade tree mechanic, I have monkey shirts. Well, last Thursday I was changing Vera's oil out and a neighbor walked up and started talking to Lynn. "Nice Harley" the neighbor says. Lynn, "That's not a hardley" Me? I look at my grease monkey shirt. A black hardley t-shirt. What model is your Harley? Why it is a WTF Triumph.

I would never dream of wearing a trump shirt while wrenching...Well, except for triumph dealers that are a-holes. Like the House of Power in Palm Bay. Their T is nice. Holds vital fluids well. Cycle Riders too, but I don't have any of their T's.

Unless its a Triumph cruiser . I had the same opinion the other day when someone said that these bikes were patterned after the old triumph speed twins.

They all look the same to me. But, when I see a Triumph I have no doubt that it is not a YamaHondaKawaHarleyZuki.

These days, I just catagorize bikes as Triumph and not Triumph. Makes things a lot easier.

I just wave and don't try anymore. I can usually spot a Triumph thought.

I usually know it's a Harley when either A) I start sliding from the oil coming from the bike B) When the rider is clearly wearing Harley Brand Jeans, Helmet, Vest, Boots, t-shirt, gloves, etc.

I have a whole set of Triumph short and long sleeve workshirts. Got them off ebay. Really cool. I just wear them riding and not working. Besides, what else is there to do to a Triumph except change the oil?

My daughter-n-laws father purchased a used purple VTX 1800
last fall. He's been out of riding for a long time !
So he wants a new jacket, his kids as my opinion on a good leather jacket. I give them some ideas.
Nope, he's already picked out his jacket. It's a beauty, $400.00 HARLEY DAVIDSON emblazened across the back.
He ask me one day, so how you like my jacket Mike, uh nice!
Ah yes, another wannabe.

It doesn't get much easier than that!

Man, I don't have anything but Triumph shirts, well, I have some old medevac t-shirts but I want those Huey shirts to last as long as they can.

If you're slow, you have company. I watched a group of 6-7 motor by me at the post office yesterday afternoon. I had the same thought, ?. But they were out for a spin, so ride on people . I'm the same way with most cars, it doesn't register with me .

I did easily spot an older Moto Guzzi from 1/2 block away on Saturday, does that count for anything?

Dude, I seen a bike just up from Chy's house yesterday that frankly, did'nt know what the heck it was. I halfway expected to see Arnold Swarzenegger come out of the store to get on it. It said "Honda" on the side, but looked sorta like a V-rod, 2030 model. He said he was from the area, and that it was a 2004 Honda "RUNE" whatever the heck that is. I could make out now on the gas tank the letters R-U-N-E which I have never heard of. Really cool bike though, had a Goldwing engine on it. Said it would burn the rubber in first 4 gears to the rim.....

Just want to add about the "others" tanks. Not only are they small but some have just symbols or some type of logo.At least with a Harley or Triumph you can have that name on with pride!

I guess we look at all the other bikes mainly to compare that we have the best. Or to see how their personal style looks unique. Can't find many, All clones and no soul to their makes.

the small emblems are a real problem for identification. even the victory's have small badges.

but people are stupid, too. i had a guy come up to me in a bar and say nice harley. i rode up on my LTD 1000. i just said yeah. it's like the word "coke" in the south. they don't mean coca cola, they mean pop, or other parts of the us, soda.

Of course it's not just HD being copied out there

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

There's one of those running around Helena. Fooled me the first time I caught a glimpse of it.
