Simichrome works great for blues and bugs.

site link:
http://bluejob.shop-utopia.com/
Aprox $10.00 USD
Available at: almost any HD type bike shop.

This will work great & get gunk of as well.
It's a power that U make into a white paste.
Rub & buff like MAD...let it sit & dry & do again if needed.
It will not scratch our stainless headers or chrome.
TIP: If your AIS is installed, remove it!
Make sure your not too lean because the bluing will return.

Your headers will be bright silver at first (after using said product) but may turn gold after time. Blue job will turn them silver again if U re-apply.
I find I need to use it about every other month to keep headers looking better than new.
If U ever take the headers off to have them pollished they will most likely come back looking great but they will have a golden hue, (caused by heat from buffer) once again...Bluejob will turn them silver.

I also use Bluejob. It takes a LOT of rubbing and it seems to take forever, but it does eventually take out the blue.

Semichrome took off the slight bluing that happened before the AI was removed without too much effort. I no longer have a bluing problem but use it on the headers every month or so to eliminate any discoloration.

To get the bluing out of the groove where the header attached I used my Dremmel tool with a silver polishing attachment. Slower rpm (1500) and a little Semichrome worked it right out in a minute. The rest I did by hand.

I haven't tried it on chrome yet, but MAAS http://www.alwaysbrilliant.com/?SC=98275...CFT-uJAodehKaKg
does wonders on brass.

I've used simichrome since 1973 - it still amazes me.

Do a search. I posted at length about this, under exhaust I think. After 6 hours with a cotton wheel in a cordless drill, and "Totally Buff", I got the horrible blueing off. Check out the pic's in my photo gallery. Charlie
