Nail polish is really, close to laquer auto paint & touch up sticks.
I use clear & black (nail polish) after cleaning up rust from bolts & screw heads. The rust never comes back & bolts look new.
The trick with a scratch is: Do it on a warm day (not in the direct sun)with some "reducer" handy (nail polish remover) to thin the paint out so it dries fast & smooth.
1. Knock down any edges on the scratch w/buffing compound
2. Clean out scratch w/alcohol
3. Attempt to fill in the scratch with a small auto pin striping brush made of hair (do not use the nail polish applicator)
3. Let it sit so it will smooth out.
If it looks bad remove ASAP (w/nail polish remover) & try until it looks good!
I've had great success using this method...I dare you to find my scratches.
