I was sitting around one day just thinking. How fast can these bikes go. I know there are a lot of different setups. So EVERYONE chime in give us your setup and how fast it goes. Now no fish stories and no exaggeration.
You all know my setup it is at the bottom of every post. But I get 109 when I am riding solo (195lbs) If it is me and my wife riding I push about 100. I bought the bike used so I am not sure if it was totally stock but I think it was.
I have not heard from Bikerthug on how he is doing. I think I will call him sometime tonight and make sure he is still alive. I will let you guys know how he is doing.
vl
PS how fast can yours go??

I've hit 110 on the speedo. The bike still had more left, but that was about as fast as I wanted to take it. Stock speedy with short TOR's and AI removal only.

I've hit 110 and the bike was not finished I was. I understand the speedo is off a bit. I have a larger front tire which corrects the speed somewhat. For for the sake of the discussion I'll say 105. I weight 170. I feel confident the bike has more in it. Mike

I was riding last night and had her doing between 110 and 115 on the speedo but I know there is speedo error involved here. So I would have to say I had her going about 105. I do believe there is still more left but I am still breaking her in from the big bore install. I believe you break em in the way your gonna ride em... HARD!!! Big Bore, Modified airbox w/Unifilter, 140 mains (believe I need to go bigger yet)Thruxton needles, DBA pipes, Oh and it is one of the fast red ones, almost forgot to mention that!!

Nothing good ever comes from an introduction like that. An idle mind is the devil's playground. There's state sponsored official signs with large (and small) numbers posted routinely along along the roadway. Those signs represent the chasm between a civilized, polite society and the road to anarchy. I think you're encouraging illegal behavior amongst the Triumph owners and ought to be ashamed.
BTW, I followed a string of rigs today at a steady 55 for a few miles and found myself wondering how we made it through the double nickle years? Boring. I think that's about the time when the AMC Pacer & it's cousin the Gremlin was invented.
BTW; My set-up and top end results are about identical to your's, although I'm older and should know better. It bogs out sometimes on long steep inclines climbing these stupid mountains. But I generally get there .

On a 5 mile stretch of downsloping interstate, stock top and pipes, pushing a roadster windscreen, and giving her all she had, GPS said 107.

my bike gets way up there but I know the speedo is way off. I figure they will go top end 110ish. I know when it hits 100 it doesn't feel like it so am thinking its 7-10% fast in the speedo department at high speed. I need to find one of those side of road radar things to calibrate it.

That's great to know, as I was wondering the same. I have not had mine over 85, and really have no need to....I cruise at 70 to 75, and that's it, that's all I want....

Had mine over 115 (on the speedo), so I'd guess an actual 108-110, maybe. That was with a 17-tooth counter sprocket. Haven't top-ended it with the "16". Probably run out at 105.

According to the speedo, I had mine upto 115 a couple times. Once on the way to the Idaho Invasion (decided to slow down just in case) and the other time was on the track at P.I.R.

117 with a sport bike beside me showing 120. His speedometer must be more optimistic than mine because I know my speedo is optimistic. Course then he twisted the throttle and went out of sight.

148mph.... no wait... that was on my bro-in-law's CBR. I don't know, I stop looking at the speedo after 100.

Bone stock, rider's feet on the rear pegs and crouched a bit to reduce wind resistance, they should be able to hit around 108 real speed. I've had mine past 105 real speed with a little throttle left and sitting up. My Speedometer has been measured to read +10 according to the roadside radar wagons from an indicated 48 to 93, so there's no reason to believe it's much different when it says 117.

115 mph indicated running a slightly taller tire, which reduces the speedometer error to +5% instead of +10%. This was a long straight road near the Arizona/New Mexico border 2 years ago, and my bike had a windshield mounted and saddlebags with 3 days worth of clothes in them.

I weigh 250. Sorry it's not a America or Speedy but it's a stock Triumph 05 S3. Seems like I remember my old 04 Bonnie would hit about 112-115 downhill with the wind. Mad`

I hit 105 (indicated) yesterday and was still pulling. Looked like I was near 6000 RPM. I was running out of road so I had to back off before some idiot on a cross road didn't see a bike to 100+MPH. I weigh in at about 305. Epco pipes, freak with 160/42 jets, 18T sprocket, no windscreen and metzler 880 tires.
Ride On!
