Yes. But, it only takes an extra couple minutes.

I've changed plugs a couple of times in the last few months without pulling the tank. I took my socket & gound it down so it would fit correctly, then racketed those buggers out /& in with no problem!

If you're gonna take the tank off, get the AI removal kit, and use it. Doesn't take long at all.

Probably easier with the tank off. Once you take the tank off once, you'll wonder why you waited so long to do it! It's easy. And yeah, good time to remove the AI! Then you won't need to remove the tank for the plugs again.

Thanks for the replys. I pulled the tank and got er done.
fun to do in the dark. Runs much better now. Was hesitating getting rid of the AI because I figured the engineers who are supposed to be smart designed the bike to run with it, but now I think I will get rid of the AI.

Thanks
Larry

Nah, the eco-freaks who think they're smarter than the engineers demanded the AI go there. Adding fresh air to the exhaust gasses after they're passed out of the cylinder does nothing for performance, but it DOES make your chrome pipes pretty blue and gold colours. Dump the AI ASAP.

Naw, that was invented by politicians who fancy that they only need a majority vote to become engineers.
