has anyone tried to get a replacement lamp for the standard light bar flood? they are 12 v35 watt and the dealer doesn't have a part listing for it and they have to hunt through a pile of stuff, I got one at a yamaha dealer. the local pep boys carried 12v55watt for 3.75 the yamaha dealer charged$18.00 for 35 watt doesn't make sense.
any ideas??

Saved this from the old list, haven't had the need to try the number yet. The number doesn't come up on the NAPA.com website, but maybe call your local store tomorrow. I can't remember who posted this info, it was last year.

Light Bar Replacement Bulbs BP 1235/H3 NAPA, $6.99 each

I'm just about convinced if an item is marketed for aviation, marine, or motorcycle use, you're going to pay at least twice what it's worth.

I’ve replaced the light in my lightbar 2 times over the last couple of years. The Triumph part # is A9930036. When my local shop was out of them, I ordered a bulb through Team Triumph, which seems to have a lot of parts in stock…

I've been using 55w bulbs for two years now. No problems at all and it gives you an even stronger light = makes you more visible.

that was my concern adding .57% more wattage to the wiring. usually you can get away with it, but it's good to know it is possible. do yu run your lights 100% of the time?

thanks again

Yep, I run the lights all the time. My main reason for getting them was to (try to) be more visible to the cagers. When they flash their headlights at me I wave and smile.

Yep!

"Cager - A person driving a car, truck, or van. Cage operator, or driver."

"Cage - A car, truck, or van. The sworn enemy of motorcyclists, more commonly known as automobiles. The name stems from being all cooped up inside a closed shell, with no contact with the outside air."

But I guess you already knew this...

my factory bulbs lasted over 2 years but when they blew
I swithced to the easy to find 55w bulbs.
I also replaced the stock 55w/60w headlight with a 80w/100w

It is good to be seen.

Unless you update the wiring harness and relay, it's doubtful the higher watt bulbs are any brighter than stock and they should not overload your wiring. At least that is the way it works on automobile headlights.

Alot of great options, I'll have to check some of them out. The only thing I can think about the difference in wattage between the head light and the floods is so that the head light is predominate. But as piper says, they flash him, that's a good thing because we know where we are.
thanks all. This is my first ba so I'm scoping everything out on it, so far I'm impressed.

PEC Lamp - H3 Halogen 35 watt page

This is the cheapest site I have found. Other sites do offer the amber color as well.

Another site with 55 watt amber H3s The Electrical connection

It is an option I would like also. The amber fluted lense maybe comes from the harley models for 4 1/2 inch lamp. I'm looking also as soon as I find out, I'll posted it to you, you do the same.
