Is it OK to ride on Easter?

I figure after church and my families annual Easter brunch it would be ok to go on a nice long ride. It's going to be in the mid 70's today.

Is it OK to ride on Easter?

Of Course! Nothing like a good pagan holiday, great weather and lots of roast rabbit to get you in the mood to get out there and ride.

Cheers,
Brad

Just got back from a nice Easter ride. Beautiful day about 80 degrees. Took A1A from Palm Beach to Pompano. The ocean was a beautiful blue and crystal clear. Only problem was all the traffic. I thought a ride early on Easter morning would be real quite. Turns out it was probably the busiest day of the year at the beach and for a Sunday cruise along the ocean. It was a great ride though.

Keep in mind, Jesus rode a Triumph, says so in the Bible!

No, it is absolutely forbidden. In 2 Kings 2; 23-24 you see the following:

"And verily, saith the Lord, it shall be unfit and unclean for any Son of Man to bestride his Triumph on the day of Resurrection. For Thou shalt keep Holy that Day of Great Rejoicing in contemplation and familial merriment, not skiving off for the afternoon and popping into Ye local Boozing Hole. For verily I say unto Ye, woe unto all who offendeth the Lord; for His Righteous Anger shall smite them by the Bluing of Chrome, the Popping of Exhausts, the Misfiring of Engines, and the Slipping of Brakes."

Well, I think it's something along those lines

Siggy

If life wasn't so pointless and absurd, I would take it more seriously.

Psalm 47:1
Shout unto God with the sound of Triumph.

Psalm 47:5
God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a Trumpet.

Just don't forsake the assembly.... Take you congregation with you. If they don't have bikes - they don't count. Since I am Jesus' brother, I know He'd ride a Triumph.
And He'd ride it safe!

Well I went out with the congregation and we rode for an hour or so and found a very handy Dunkin Donuts. We celebrated the lords day over a steaming cup of coffee and rode home. What a great day!!

I did a nice 75 mile ride today up into northern Westchester County, NY. A guy on a Suzuki 1000 V-Strom (hideous cruiser) rode with me. Winding roads, few stop signs or lights, and unbelievable scenery. Towards the end of the ride, we had lunch at a nice Italian restraunt in Scott's Corner, NY on Rt 37, just north of New Canaan, CT. After lunch, we were standing by our bikes parked in front of the place, and I was having a smoke before we got going. All of a sudden, my buddy says "uh-oh", and I look up, and see a cop walking over to us. He had driven by, seen our bikes, made a u-turn, parked, got out of his cop car, and walked over. He said he couldn't belive my bike, and he had to stop to look at it. I told him I was going to buy a Harley, but where I live, every "Guido", and his brother has one. Then he says "I see you're looking at my name tag". Of course, he had an Italian surname. I told him no offense intended officer, but you know what I mean, those guys with the gold chains. He reached under the collar of his shirt, and pulled out a gold chain. He laughed, and said "that's a f***ing beautiful motorcycle. Then, he got a call, and took off. My buddy looks at me and says " I can't believe what just happened". I said what are you talking about? He said "I saw that cop coming over, and I thought he was going to give us a hard time about where we were parked, or something". I said no, he just wanted to look at my bike. It happens all the time. Now, I will make my first attempt at posting pics. Charlie

Took the wife out to dinner today on the bike. The Mexican place we wanted to eat at was closed. No problem, went to another Mexican place in another town that was open. If we were in the car, it would have been a drag, but on the bike, it was, oh, well, lets ride over to another town and try there. It was a little chilly on the road, though. TR

Amen to that!

Couldn't ride today, but we took the car. Went on a nice drive. Took the road that we are planning on riding with the Rat Pack in a couple of weeks. God made some beautiful country out here.

Hey Dwight

If you're resident Agnost then I'm the resident Athiest.
I only celebrate Xmas cos it's my Mums Birthday. It's an excuse for a party otherwise....and some pressies! And before someone starts I know that's hypocritical but so are most religions. And if you start on me I'll go into a corner and sulk. Or just go to work!

Last week I parked the silver bullet in the garage for a few months (shoulder surgery coming up and difficult to ride). Yesterday was so nice I was gonna git er out for one last short ride but Saturday I decided to go up into the attic and fall through the ceiling dislocating my right shoulder. Not even the one I'm gonna get fixed !
So there went my plans to ride on Easter.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrpppppppppppppp !!!!!!

Does that mean that your wife is gonna have to help you with beer drinking as well as all the other chores that you can't do?

I can manage beer with one hand. I fell through at about 1:00 pm and by 8ish I managed to down 13 longnecks and three shots of Jose Cuervo Gold. The pain was gone until Easter morning.

It is sacrilage to not ride. There is no better way to commune with ones maker than to become one with nature and creation by going for a nice leasurely ride in the country.
