May first apparently is a day for illegal aliens and illegal alien avocates to boycot american stores. They are also not to go to work. So, May first will become my big shopping day, gas, groceries, home depot. And I encourage others who may have the same view to do the same.

That the illegal amigos chose May 1st as their "special" day, is not so strange. That date has been the international Communist day for decades.....

Well folks...looks like SOMEBODY'S backyard in Sun City West Arizona is gonna be conspicuously absent a MAYPOLE this year. But don't worry, PapaDean! I'm almost sure that Jose and Umberto could have one up and running for ya by April 30th...and at a THIRD of the COST of a UNION WORKER! Cheers, Dwight
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

True enough. Oppressive, corrupt regimes that bleed the resources of their countries, and enslave or drive away their citizens, have always been the breeding grounds of communism. So someone please tell me why President Bush is so buddy-buddy with the corrupt, oppressive government of Mexico.

Okay Bill...you "knee-jerk" liberal Commie, YOU!!! PapaDean makes a "innocent" remark and Mr. Union here takes the bait!!! BTW Bill...did you watch this weeks History Channel broadcasts "10 Days That Unexpectedly Changed America", and the "Homestead Strike of 1892" episode in particular?(a buck and a half a day in wages for getting the "pleasure" of standing next to super-heated molten metal for 12 hours every day, seven friggin' days a week?) What I could never figure out about the mindset of people like Carnegie and Frick is...how much money is enough for you freakin' guys anyway, HUH? Cheers, Dwight

I don't seem to have much time for TV, but I did catch that one, hope some people who think that slavery was abolished saw it too.

See the 400 million dollar thread . For those who live to aquire money, there is no such thing as too much, and no such thing as a wrong way to do it.

Yeah Bill...I read it. Disheartening, to say the least!
But as long as people continue to over-populate the planet by popping out more kids than they can possibly love, nurture and educate, then the simple axiom of supply and demand will continue to keep wages down for the unskilled but VERY necessary "working man", and tensions high when the world's resources are at issue.
Cheers, Dwight (and as the venerable Mr. Cronkite said(and don't even get me started on the "perky" Ms. Couric as the next in line here)..."And that's the way it is"!")

Count me in. I will make a point to do all my grocery shopping and other misc items on that day. I will probably take both vehicles and my motorcyle to fill-up on that day....i'll $5.00 it in the gas tank if I have to so I can drop the big 60.00 in the gas tank May 1st.

Cinco De Mayo is the same week. Some of those folks will be playing hooky from work twice in the same week. !!
I really doubt an impact will be noticed.

It WILL be noticed around here, IF you are going out to eat dinner at a restaurant (since most every chain restaurant around here is staffed in the kitchen by "guest workers" and if you're having a house built since that will put your closing day one day later (since every construction crew I see any more seems mainly comprised of "guest workers"!!)
