You know I was in New York last weekend,we took a group of kids to a music festival.
The second day we took a tour of New York, normal stuff
Empire State building, broadway play lots of looking up, with every thing but a tourist sign on us.Then our bus driver drove us around Ground Zero. You know the bus got quiet real fast.Years ago I was in those towers and seeing that empty lot after being up in them, affected me. Seeing the buildings around it still damaged, affected me. Seeing it surrounded with a rusty fence Pissed me off. You know this is not a tourest attraction, Its a shrine. You think about the people that died when those towers fell and the people that died after it fell, and the best we can do is a Rusty fence. Shame on us
You know its probably a expensive plot of realestate but its value is far more them that. Its more then a office building its more then a place of curiousity. Its a place of honor and should be treated as such. Its more then a hole in the ground and we should know better then that

there's been a lot of talk about what to do with the site, memorial, etc. I haven't heard talk of it in a while, but it's a shame it's almost neglected now. Interestingly, this morning on the radio they mentioned finding bone fragments on the ROOF of a nearby building!! Crazy indeed. Sounds like they are dealing with the issue if identifying as many people's remains as possible before the actual re-building or memorial begins. It's a touchy subject for sure.

I would be happy if they made a Memorial Park out of it for people to have a place to breathe and reflect. Just a plain park with benches, trees and a memorial structure in the middle - not a masoleum. And we dont have to prove anything to anyone. Any reason why we have to build the tallest building here?

Probably not going to happen. This is Wall Street. Business interests always prevail.
