Just want to get it right on the size I need to get (i.e available) in a white wall.

I'm getting Metzeler's ME880's
Front: 120/90HB-18 ($99.99)
Rear: 170/80HB-15 ($125.97)

And I have to raise the front fender 1/4"

Is that correct info?

Thanks

Rich

Skippy has them, and Jaymo54 just ordered some. Hopefully they will chime in, but I'll see Jaymo in the next day or two and make him answer the question.

The ME 880 site shows you can not get a front tyre - unless you want a 130!

In a WIDE WHITE WALL?
I searched every site in USA looking, and found that they just don't have a 120/90-18 in a WWW. YOU'VE DONE WELL!
Do you still have the details or perhaps a receipt with a part number besides 120/90-18 ?
I'm getting quotes/availability for some Dunlops like Piper's, but kinda like the speel the Michelins give about more rubber being in the middle for greater high way life. Seems to be more rubber in the middle that the Dunlops too.

You may think I'm being a jerk, or pedantic or such, BUT..
Because of our wheel size combination (15/18), it can be difficult to get a rear white wall tyre, AND a matching front. OR, difficult to get a front, and a matching rear. I've looked into it. I'm settling on Dunlops - info supplied by Piper, refer Dulop web site K177 front, K555 rear.
It pays to actually "see" the tyre, as my local dealer came close to ordering me some White Walls that actually had a SMALL white band around them - not what I wanted! Yet the tyre was designated a "White Wall"!
From my research, some manufacturers abreviate as follows
BW-----BLACK WALL
WW----WHITE WALL
WWW--WIDE WHITE WALL
NWW---NARROW WHIE WALL
RWL----RAISED WHITE LETTERING
Again, if you can see them in a catalog or on a bike first is the way to go. I HOPE I'VE HELPED?

So will the 130 fit safely as long as you take care of the fender bracket clearence?

Personally I don't know. Best to check with your dealer. Lifting the fender allows for the centrifical force increasing the height / radius of the tyre - nothing to do with width as such. I don't know if a 130 will fit safely between the front forks, or SAFELY & LEGALLY on the standard 2.5" rim. You dealer and/or tyre manufacturer will know.

You're in the States. I'm sure you can get some Maxxis 120's there. I just can't get them here - for some stoopid reason??
