Never have I ever considered coming to Albania before now however a need to be in Croatia in mid June for a week lead to this adventure. (Flying across the Atlantic to just spend one week on vacation is just a thing my wife and I do not like to do) There are some great mountain and coastal roads to drive here I just wish that I had my Speedmaster to tour around on. Lots of BMW adventure bikes have passed us in the rental car we have with friends along for the tour. Beautiful country, interesting historical sites and friendly people. For a brief time my phone thought we were in Greece as the island of Corfu was a short distance across the water from the Butrint National Park and historical sites. Off to Tirana the capital tomorrow.

Unfortunately there is the ugly side of development here. As our walking guide said many times the government encourages unique buildings to be built and believe me many in Tirana rival the architecture of most modern cities (Melbourne Australia comes to mind) and they dont care how dirty the money is.
