Fourteen years ago I had to replace the CDI on my 06 America. The Triumph OEM was way too expensive, so I went with a Procom unit. Now I need to change it again with 61,000 miles on it. Has anyone else gone through a couple of the CDIs?

I got the first replacement CDI under warrantee.

After I built up the 904 motor, it started hard, so I went to the Procom. That started better but did not match up with the extreme cam profile I was using at the time. That CDI went to another member on BA and it ran great with their setup.

I went to the Firestarter for the 904 and that really ran well.

Later I built up the 1100 motor and changed to the Firestarter 1100. That one is really impressive.

FWIW I still have a stock CDI and a Firestarter that I am not using.

I ended up getting a FIrestarter from Fast Eddy. I'm glad the procoms were on backorder. The throttle response, starting, and running is much better than new or with the procom. Eddy recommended going with the firestarter. Eddy comes through again!
