Is the standard front sprocket for the 2006 Triumph America 17 or 18 teeth? I believe it is the 17?

I can confirm the SM came with a 16 I am not sure of the BA 17 or 18. I lean to the 18 but not 100% sure.

I thought 16 SM 17 America. Went to 19 and never looked back. Taller gears, smooth highway riding, not a fast hole shot but I was a rider not a racer. It was similar to adding a 6th gear. In 5th you can get it to the ton up state but not hit the rev limiter. Just not enough HP for that set up.
I loved for cruising the taller gears made it so smooth to ride.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

this thread has got me thinking about trying a 19T. The bike is still pretty jumpy with the 18T. It really wants to pull the front end when you try to get out in traffic. Yesterday a quick 2nd to 3rd shift surprised me a little.
