How many miles between valve adjustment?
If there is no problem how many miles should this adjustment be done?

Roughly 12,000 miles and even at that I found mine didn't need it the 2nd time and the first time wasn't far off either.

As a general rule, with these motors, clearance checks are done more frequently than the actual adjustments. At 12k mi mine were all within spec. That said, my cams are not stock. I don't think that matters much, if any.

I miss pushrods with screw adjustment, that service took about 10 minutes.

I do not miss having to adjust valve clearances. A once every month chore or have the bike losing power and sounding like a sewing machine.

I still have my 'special' bent feeler gauges and bent 10mm end wrenches and that little square socket for the tappit. 1, 2, 4 and even a 6 cylinder.

05 speedmaster - 1100cc, 11:1 racing pistons, Carillo rods, thunderbike cams, ported and polished head, 2mm over intake and exhaust valves, Barnett kevlar clutch, scepter pipes, oversize manifolds, 45mm HSR's, TTP stage 4 firestarter

Maybe more often but no back lash pins, no pulling cam, no measuring every shim and figuring what shim you need, no putting it all back together only to find one is still out and all back apart again. Solid tappets and pushrods for me any day.
