Since I retired and now that it's winter, very bored, what do you do to keep busy in the winter months?.

Fortunately here in Ga I can usually get out and find something to do year round. If I lived where you do I would have to have a really big workshop.

Do you get enough snow to X country ski there in NW CT. It is low impact and quite pleasant to go for a walk in the woods while forcing the ole ticker to pump a little faster. A friend took up photography, today with a decent phone or camera and a computer which you must have you can get lost for hours. Pick a subject on YouTube there is a rabbit hole you can disappear into all day pausing to get a sandwich made and then back at it.

I'm with both of these guys, I can spend hours on You tube or watching a good movie and I spend hours upon hours out in my shop working on my antique tractors or my motorcycles. I also wood work when I find time, I actually need to make a new window frame for my house. I also need to make some weld in bushings for my loader bucket and for a set of forks I am making fit my loader. I have an old tractor trailer axle for material, hope that works , I would rather some cold rolled 2" round stock. I have been meaning to machine those for a couple years but never seem to get to it. I always get side tracked on something else. Like today, I hate to get started because of the snow. There is a pretty good chance I will have to go out on a wreck or two.
I learned all I need to know about life by killing smart people and eating their brains. Eat right ,Exercise ,Stay fit, Die Anyway!

I retired at 51. Was crook for a while before Veterans Affairs sorted my pension out. I try to go on at least one big ride a year but the weather for the last few years has been atrocious. Built the green bike in my gallery, three boats and now halfway through a mini hummer rebuild. I have creek access to Lake Macquarie (Amazing place if you want to check it out) but I always seem too busy to go fishing.
A dog, a bike, a ute,
Now in the deep south.. Newcastle.
Cold winters, cold rain
Come on summer
