The morning news said that Eunice is expected to bring you lot winds above 120 MPH (around 200 K).and even rail transport is stopping service. So. if you have to go someplace, just stand outside and hold your coat open. Do they still have a lot of thatched roofs? I don't suppose those hold up well in wind like that, and if you have a trampoline you will have to go hunting for it when the storm has passed.

The BBC news paints a grim picture. Power out in about 1/4 million homes, roofs blown off, lorries blown over on M4, trees blown down on houses, people and cars. Wind speed of 122 MPH was recorded on the Isle of Wight.
Hope all of you are safe and well, though it's likely that you won't have internet access for a while because of the utilities all knocked out.

Eunice was the second storm we had had in 3 days. We had a third a couple of days later too. Three named storms in a week but Eunice was by far the worst and the first for many years where it was graded 'red'. Threat to life, severe damage to infrastructure etc. I believe we have another due son too (Franklin has also been through, Gladys is next). It makes news over here because, in the great scheme of things, we never really get severe weather like that very often but that was a big one. Mid-storm I was talking to a friend on the phone who was actually getting his camping gear ready to RIDE to a weekend rally with others. I questioned his sanity, called him several expletives and suggested IF he actually gets there in one piece, he'd more than likely be the only person there ! He decided to stay home.
Camping. 65-75 mph winds. I give up sometimes.
