I've only just found out that Dave Prowse sadly died yesterday aged 85.For me, being born at the back end of the 60's and while growing up in the '70s, he will forever be remembered as the man who taught generations of kids how to cross the road safely as 'The Green Cross Code Man'.
I believe he was miffed when James Earl Jones got the gig to voice Darth Vadar but come on, Dave was from the West country ffs!! "Or'roit my luvverrr" doesn't quite fit with Darth Vadar's image, does it ?
All my childhood tv, film and sport stars are pegging it !!
