Well, I bought a set of stainless exhaust when my original pipes on my 02 BA rusted out. It was about 2005 and they were made in Nicaragua. Now they are too loud to register. I have replaced them with a set of original speedmaster pipes. After kicking it in the guts the first thing I thought was, "Mmm, does my engine always sound like that?" Anyway anyone know who made Nicaraguan pipes? Can I quiet them down somehow? Or can I chugg up the speedy pipes? Cheers

You can always quiet down pipes with baffles and packing. Might have to make something or measure the pipes inside and see what is available. I am not familiar with those so I can't give specifics as to what you would need to do to accomplish that.

Thanks Joe, Yeh I have been following Matt's mods from the start. Nearly 18 years now. Unfortunately I am no longer in the sunshine state and I am now only about 1000 km south. But thanks. I will have a look around down here.

I believe that those are Stainless Ride/Epco exhaust. They were originally manufactured in Dayton, Ohio but I believe that the Epco owner, an old guy named Tom, sold the designs to Stainless Ride and they manufactured them for a few years before they went out of business,
2006 865 Neon Blue/Jet Black Speedmaster,790cams, TTP Stage 2 Firestarter, Epco Exhaust with 10.25" Samson Vrod baffles, UNI pods with 40 pilots, 150 mains,Thruxton needles, 3 turns out.
