I have several Buck knives (among other makes) and they are great knives. I have a couple Buck switchblade conversions. I have one with an oval button that is a notoriously bad conversion. I didn't know that at the time so I have one. I have a much better conversion with a round button, that is also a 50th anniversary knife. That is a great knife. I like the switch blades for ease of one handed operation while working. I just found that Buck is now making a factory switchblade! It has the same forever warranty as Buck has always had! I bought one today, can't wait for it to get here. https://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_store.html?usrsearch=buck++auto This knife I bought is $200 from Buck, the 110 with ebony handle. I searched and best price I could find was the one I posted. Other suppliers have it at the same price but then have shipping on top of that. I paid more for both my conversions so I am excited about this knife. I hope it lives up to what I have come to expect from Buck knives. The link I posted has several of the knives available not just the one I bought but I posted that to show the one I got. Thought I would clarify, the one I bought is the 110 Hunter with the brass bolsters like the other classic Buck and Schrade knives I have. Actuall the classic Schrade I have I was told is worth something because it's rare. That also has been a very good knife.

Got the knife today. Fit and finish is superb. When opened it is so smooth you feel no drag or resistance what so ever. It locks open positively as well as closed. Like the conversions there is no safety to keep it from opening in your pocket so I would advise using the holster that is included. This knife is razor sharp. In a nut shell it is everything I have come to expect from Buck. Like I said the only change I might make would be a safety so it could be carried in your pocket. I haven't decided if I will carry this and use it like I do my S&W or not use it at work. My S&W switchblade has a safety on it and I use it for everything including things like prying off hub caps. I have used that knife for close to 10 years now and it works as well as ever but shows the wear and needs to be sharpened right now. Difference is that knife cost about 1/3 the Buck.

Enjoy! I agree, better to use the holster with the new switchblade. Which brand of S&W knife do you carry?

A cheap aluminum sided switchblade. It was only $50. I just bought it to abuse at work. My only complaint is the screws fall out that hold it together but I took them out and lock-tited them and been fine ever since.

If you are looking to buy one of those be sure to take each screw out and locktite it.

I searched it and it took me a little to find the one I have. Apparently they make several versions of that knife. This is the one I have and for less than 1/2 of what I paid at the time. https://www.discountcutlery.net/SW5...Plus-Linerlock-Pocket-Knife_p_73065.html Correction, I see now why it is cheaper, this is NOT a switchblde but identical in every other way. I just looked at the picture and it has the same lock button and safety lock to stop it opening prematurely but not an auto like I have. Here is the auto. Remember this is a cheap knife but like, I said, I have been using mine for about 10 years now and it has never failed and as I said I really abuse it. Don't look for great fit and finish but it is a great knife for the price. Mine holds an edge for quite a while too even with the abuse. https://www.smkw.com/smith-wesson-extreme-ops-drop-pln-blk-3

Very cool! I have a bad knife fetish so I have a bunch, including a number of Bucks. What I really like is that Buck is sticking with Made in USA products almost exclusively. I'll be adding the Auto to my shopping list!

I agree, the S&W is made in China. My last Buck the sheath was made in Mexico but the auto I just bought it's made in USA even has a flag stamped above the made in USA. I can tell you you won't be disappointed it is as smooth as can be and nice and tight. Most autos are a little loose to function properly but not this one. I sound like a damned Buck ad but it's all true. I have quite a few knives myself and I didn't need the one I have since my other Buck 110 auto conversion is almost as nice but I can't pass up a really nice knife either or a gun that the price is right on either for that matter. I have to say so far the latch to release the blade is one of the nicest I have had and I have quite a few. It closes securely and is easily opened and very smooth.
