In my opinion, the front wheel, tire, and fender on my America look a little out of proportion to the rest of the bike. I'd like to have a little fatter tire (slightly wider, and slightly taller sidewall) and a beefier fender to match (something with a little more "valance")

Before I start off on this long journey of discovery, anyone care to point me in the right direction? Tried anything that didn't work? Have the ultimate solution already?

Anyone know how much larger I can go on the tire and keep the stock wheel (18 x 2.5)?

All suggestion and comments are welcome, even the smarta** ones if for nothing else than entertainment value.

I've seen a couple of TBAs with Honda Ace front fenders on them... looks a lot fuller and if you're into chrome you can then put the chrome fender guard on it too. (And you thought Triumph chrome was expensive? Wait till you see the price of that piece!)

3spirit had a thread recently where he discussed how he's laced a wider rim onto the standard hub and put a 130 front tyre on.

No guarantees that the honda fender & 130 tyre will work together, but that's what customs bikes is all about - experimenting. If everything was already tried and guaranteed it'd be called "copies of custom bikes".

The Speedmaster fender is a direct bolton, and it looks nice.
