No, I’m not jumping the gun. For our friends in Australia, it’s already the early hours of Christmas Day. Whether you say Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday or whatever, have a good one folks. Wherever you are, have a happy new year full of joy, good health and safe riding.  .

May I join in with a resounding 'Bah Humbug!
Just had the day from hell with Beloved's family round for dinner...some not speaking to each other..others arguing with each other....me? Pour me another Dear and let's leave them to it.
Next year I think someone else can host the Big Fight show

Bah Humbug here also. This past October I moved to Florida to be closer to family for such occasions and more family time. This coming October I plan on moving again when my lease is up, but this time I'm not telling anyone my new address or phone number. Well maybe I'll tell the IRS and Social Security.

I’m guessing that move didn’t go as planned then ?!
One of the joys of living alone I suppose - get up when I want, watch what I want, eat what and when I want.
I don’t smoke indoors so I spent a good part of the day in my garage with a bottle of Ron Zacapa XO Centenario Solera Gran Reserva rum and some cigars and I haven’t spoken to anyone since 10am on Christmas Eve

Great idea Bruce. If you don't care to know if they are alive, well, sick, dying or dead, they don't need to know where you are. You have already checked out on caring about them anyway. Regardless of the causes its a sad time of year to be feeling that way.
I hope next year is better for you. I was born in Camden, family members still on 8th and 9th avenue Haddon Heights. Just being from there can cause PTSD issues.

No big family gathering this year although the chirping at each other is usually done with a sense of humour. My 101 year old mother in law was just not game for entertaining anyone what after a hip operation a year ago and the fifth paliative radiation treatment on the 24th after a masectomy recently the gal just was'nt up for it. Maybe an Easter Egg hunt will be in the future cards. ("humour" is underlined does that mean Americans take the "U" out of humour? that's just not right )

I tried to "get out of Dodge" for the holidays but the wife's work schedule wouldn't allow it. Never been a fan of xmas, mostly because of the commercial aspects of it. What other holiday do we celebrate for six weeks?! Having said all of that, I actually DID have a good holiday. Most of my kids showed up for chili dinner (minus the one that is in jail again and the other girl who has been "wherabouts unknown". for two years.) But my estranged oldest son and I patched up our relationship after his mom passed away two years ago and we now get along fine and he is holding a formans job and doing great. For the first time in decades I am proud of him. Heck, he even gifted me a really nice, low miles older cargo van to help me with my work after spending a couple of weeks sprucing it up! Then on xmas day we went to my mother in laws and had a good meal. My wife's mother and siblings are great people and they remind me of my own good family. Anyway, I hope my friends on here have a nice holiday season and a safe one also!
