Hello everyone, I was perusing FB yesterday and I see a post that my wife liked from Di Adams concerning the first BA.com rally in Georgia (Di, I agree. I also believe it was '04). Talk about wonderful memories flooding in! Those memories prompted me to return to BA.com after a 9 year hiatus, to rekindle old friendships and make some new friends Some of you will remember me and some of you will have zero idea who I am. LOL Here's the back story: So I retired from Motorola (Plantation, Fl) in 2013 after 29 years. We had bought a home in Lake Placid, Fl. about 2 years before and had spent every weekend travelling 125 miles each way every weekend to work on it (it was an absolute mess to start with). Walls, floors, trim, paint, plumbing, electrical; you name it, we did it! Looking back on this journey, I can I am very happy with the results. About 2 years ago, I finally built the workshop of my dreams. Having worked out of 1 car garage all my life, a 30'x30' shop (with a 10' open bay on either side) is my home now I have a woodworking area (predominant), a metal working area, one outside bay for my boat, and one outside bay for Janet's gardening stuff. And yeah, I still have my '02 BA and Janet still has her '07 T100

A blast from the past!
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Welcome home Phil. Not sure why you've be absent all these years but you're back now. Not much has changed except the waist lines and receding hair lines. We've lost some members and gained some as well but for the most part the core group is still around. Still discussing motorcycles, beer and some politics. The last time I recall seeing you was in Dahlonega,GA loading those two bikes in your trailer and heading south. See you in May ?

Thanks for all the well wishes and jokes Life is actually pretty friggin outstanding right now. People who said (about retirement), "you will be bored" obviously have no hobbies or to-dos. Well, I have plenty of both! There is never a dull moment here I wake up in the morning chomping at the bit to get going. One of the reasons for this is an incident on Dec. 3rd of last year: After Irma, we needed a new roof so we decided to go all in and get a metal roof. Should last the rest of our lives. On Dec. 3rd, I decided to go clean the super gutter out back. Climbed up to the roof and stepped on. My first thought was 'wow, this is slippery'. Being stubborn (and stupid), I persisted. Coming back over the ridge after, I started sliding. Flipped over and tried grabbing the standing seams but nope. Off I went. Legs in the bushes, my butt and back crashing onto the concrete and I do a double tap with my head. Janet was there below for the whole thing and I told her 'I am coming off and not in a good way'. Knocked the wind out of me, head gushing blood, Janet calls 911. Me being stubborn (and stupid) says 'I'll be fine'. LOL, was I not fine! Ended up with a mild concussion, 3 cracked ribs, multiple contusions and abrasions. Luckily, only one night in the trauma center but I spent 4 months sitting/sleeping/everything on a couch due to the ribs. So around May/June this year, I was feeling way better. Knowing what could have happened, I thank God I am still alive, every single morning. I love waking up and heading out to my shop. Some days, I just listen to music. Most days, I am working on something. Like I said, life is great. Needless to say, not a lot of riding this year ;(

Leave the roof work to younger ones! They bounce better. The last time I was on the roof I slipped and busted my butt. Didn't slid off though but it convinced me to stay off!
