You would think I would have learned my lesson by now on posting stuff on Craigslist. I'm moving from south GA out of a big house to a small apartment in Tallahassee, FL and am trying to get rid of furniture for free. Even for free people are still just messing around on there and not serious about coming and getting it. No more Craigslist for me.

Do you have Kijiji there, Ive posted lots of stuff on it and given things away no problem. Maybe you just are finding A""holes that think they can make $$ from your freebie.

Not sure how active it is in your area, but NextDoor is a pretty good app, since YOU choose what local neighborhoods you want to include in your postings. There's a separate FOR SALE/FREE category that seems to work pretty well.

As mentioned, I like Facebook or Nextdoor for giving things like furniture away. Not that I have had bad luck with CL. I have posted "curb alerts" with good outcome. Responses are faster with the other sites.
I still use CL for motorcycles, trailers or other things that I want more exposure. I also post those to FB and ND, but rarely get response there.

Thanks for all the input and suggestions guys. Someone finally showed up unannounced to get the furniture. It was at 9:30 at night but there he was knocking at the door so with flash lights we loaded it on his truck. I don't have a facebook account so I couldn't post on there. Some people tell me they have never had a problem with craigslist but it seems I'm just the opposite, always bad luck selling with it but have bought motorcycles through it. I'll be so glad when this move is over with.
