how can I hotwire my bike. The dealer has tried to cut me a new key using the number I had with the original key. So far, they have failed. I need to get it running to get the bike back home.

My seat of the pants opinion is:
Follow the ignition harness Black and white or black and brown clip, may be under the harness sheath. Big wires. Pull it apart at the clip and jumper the two together in the clip on the starter side Like a U shape will make the connection. It should light it up and make you ready to go.
I could be very wrong.

This happened to me. The dealer took my VIN and sent it to Triumph. Triumph sent a brand new factory set of keys.

The old school way to hot wire a vehicle was to run a wire from the Pos on the battery to the Pos on the coil/coils and jump the solenoid. Vroom, Vroom.

Will that work on a modern ignition? Crank sensor has to be powered up to trigger the fire in the CDI that also has to be powered up. It used to work on points or HEI because that was all you needed to power everything, no computer or crank sensor involved.

Call Hollywood, they do it all the time in the movies!
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

thank you for the suggestion. any help is appreciated. My dealer is trying to help, but they have tried cutting a key for me twice, but no luck yet. I will try to replace the switch, but I'm not able to get to the screws holding the switch. I will try drilling it out. Has anyone replaced their switch?

You could try and pick it with 2 paperclips, a rake and lever. Also could try and unplug the switch and use jumper wires at the plug.

Schematic in the manual should make it fairly easy other wise identify the ground and hot first and go from there. A power probe would make that easier.
