AWESOME! What a great birthday present - get to drink some beer and watch what could be a monumental final round at The Masters. It's my second favorite sports Sunday, behind the SuperBowl, and this year the Top Five players in the world are all within 4 shots of the lead. > Will Phil continue the way he played last week? > Will Tiger win his first Masters while he's not leading on Sunday? > Can Vijay make a move?
> Will Freddy's back hold up through 31 holes?
> Will a first time winner (Campbell, Els, Goosen, Ames) prevail? LOVE IT!
Ciao!

It'll be a good finishing day with the extra holes they have to make up possibly factoring endurance more into outcome.Going to watch now.

Grown men being paid obscene amounts of money for hitting balls with sticks into holes. Like I care Siggy
If life wasn't so pointless and absurd, I would take it more seriously.

Ahh, but Siggy, It (golf) is an activity which mimics life itself. Hard work, fair play and persistence are rewarded (sometimes, but not always). It is a game where the great ones are humbled and the not so great ones can rise to tremendous heights. It is a game, remarkable in it's utter simplicity, a game where character is truly measured by how you conduct yourself when nobody is watching. It is a game with no referees, a game where you call penalties on yourself. A game where, when the irons are on fire the putter is asleep in the bag and when the putter has eyes, the irons are all 1.5" too short, and the driver should always be left behind in the closet. Woods, irons and putter are rarely happy simultaneously on the same round? A game almost as old as the Triumph motorcycle itself! In more recent years, I have had more fun riding my TBA than attempting to strike a motionless white ball with a twisted stick. But it still has it's moments (Did you see that!!!), I'll try again this season JH

Yes John, you are absolutely right. I use to play golf a lot. Then I got my bike. even though they are both completely different, they both seem to bring a sense of individuality, space and freedom for a time. The neighbor found out that I play, so I will probably start playing again this year. Now, if I could just figure ot a way to strap those clubs on the bike Soren

Boy, tough crowd Golf is my number 1 passion, has been since I started playing at 13. JH tells it like it is - Quote:
It is a game, remarkable in it's utter simplicity, a game where character is truly measured by how you conduct yourself when nobody is watching. It is a game with no referees, a game where you call penalties on yourself.
It's the a game that can be enjoyed playing both alone and with friends, that'll lift you to ultimate highs and drop you down to the depths of despair (usually in the space of a hole or two), that can be invigorating, relaxing, frustrating, demonic, euphoric, embarrasing and humbling.
Also, as far as the pros are concerned, yes they make an enormous amount of money when they play well, but they are independent contractors, have to pay for all their travel expenses, etc. (last I heard it costs $100,000-$200,000 for a full year on tour depending on the star level of your accomodations) AND if they miss the cut collect zero, zilch, nothing! No play, no pay. Have a bad year or two and your off the tour, scrambling to get back and maybe ending up back in the pro shop teaching all the hackers how to play for $30K a year.
Give it a try, you never know you might get hooked big time and then again...
BTW - driving around in a cart drinking beer for 5 hours is NOT my idea of golf.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
