I need to bleed the front brakes on my 06 Speedy. Any tips? Do I bleed the right caliper first? Do I need to remove the calipers and let them hang to bleed them? Thanks guys.

It helps to have a vac bleeder (even one from HF). Watch the reservoir level carefully, dont let it get too low. I do the right (starboard) side first, then the left. Keep the calipers mounted, the pads need to grab the rotors.

Thanks Ken. As I don’t have a vaccum pump I opted to do it the old fashioned way . First, I removed the right caliper off of the rotor and moved it over to left side . I placed a metal shim that I made for bleeding brakes between the pads and zipped tied it in place. I used this hydraulic brake bleeder from Fast Eddy https://www.fasteddysports.com/products-page/?product_id=788 on the bleed valve. I then had to hold the right caliper up towards the left side of the handle bar with the brake line bolt ABOVE the bleed valve while my wife pumped the brake lever and I bleed the brake caliper. For the left side i placed the shim between the pads but had to to let the caliper hang straight down towards the ground. That procedure gave me a super stiff brake pull with no squish, I cannot pull the lever back to touch the throttle. I hope this helps you guys down the road.

You can achieve the same thing with a clean glass jar with brake fluid in it. Put a hose on the bleeder nipple and the other end in the fluid and pump until you get no more bubbles.
