Speedy23...try it, it's great. You'll burn off your o-ring if you drink too many of them, so I just have them on occasion. Plus the tomato juice can make you feel like you're getting another food group, which MUST be a good thing!

Fat Tire, because it's readily available in the store and at my favorite watering holes. Same company makes a beer called 1554 Brussels Black Ale that's good, but can be hard to find.
Spaten Oktoberfest, when I can get it....usually at Trader Joe's.
Nimbus Brown Ale, locally brewed and not as heavy as most dark ales, but still has the chocolate and nut taste.
Anchor Steam Christmas Ale, seasonal beer and another reason to look forward to Christmas.
Deschutes Black Butte Porter, becoming more available here, but still hit or miss at the grocery store. If I could get it all the time and at any bar, this would replace Fat Tire.
Tomato beer, or Red beer as TJ calls it, is a morning drink and hangover cure where I'm from.

Hey, Make a trip across I-10 to TX. Look for a HEB market place or a big beer store. you can get the octoberfest all day long and even the optimar. right now its 10 dollars a 12 pack in ft. worth at a place called Majestic.

1. Iron City- Good local beer not for everyone though 2. Stone IPA- Excellent beer but can't be had around my neck of the woods. Gotta go to the Pittsburgh area where there are some distributors that have an extensive variety of beers. Excellent beer though from California. All the Stone brewery beers are quite tasty.

Pretty sad, but overall Old Milwaukee. I know, but it's good beer! Shiner, Pete's Wicked Ale, Sweet Georgia Brown, Newcastle Brown, oh, and my personal favorite "Cold"!

You make that sound like an easy day ride. From here to Ft Worth I think is about 1,000 miles.
Optimator is my wife's favorite. They used to carry both at Sam's Club from October to December for $18 a case. Didn't see any last year though. We get the Oktoberfest at Trader Joe's for $5.99 a 6 pack.

Let's see, there are SO many...
I'm lucky enough to live just east of Boulder Colorado and we have a LOT of local breweries in the Colorado Front Range that make excellent beer. I'm a craft beer/microbrew guy along with some English & Irish imports.
These are in no particular order but what came immediately came to mind.
* Boulder Beer Hazed & Infused * New Belgium (Ft. Collins) Fat Tire * Odell (Ft. Collins) 90 Schilling * Lefthand/Tabernash (Longmont) Oktoberfest * Phantom Canyon (Co Springs) Phantom I.P.A. * Breckenridge (Denver) Avalanche * Deschutes (Oregon) Black Butte Porter & Obsidian Stout * Young & Co. (England) Double Chocolate Stout * Samuel Smith's (England) Pale Ale, Nut Brown Ale, Taddy Porter, Oatmeal Stout
Ciao!

Since I can't find Tooheys Old here, I make do with Belhaven and Newcastle brown. Burgermeister is nice when I'm in the mood for a mild flavour.

My favorite is whichever one I have in hand. Rock Art Ridge Runner, Shed Mountain Ale, and Long Trail Ales from Vermont, or Pennsylvania's Yuengling.

Beer? I stopped drinking beer years ago. Cut to the chase boys. Whisky burns clean, doesn't fill you up, and you can generally wake up the next morning without feeling you have a bowling ball in your stomach and someone banging on your head. However..any beer NOT brewed in the US is better than ANY beer brewed in the US. The un-cut stuff from down under, VB Bitter or Molson Canadien brewed in Canada would be my choice of beers..if Whisky wasn't available.

Regretfully (as I do not have Matt access to it) I would have to say a home brew found nestled among grape pies, finger lakes and majestic vineyards. Having taken comfort in the basement refrigerator, I now find myself wishing he couldn't brew! If not for him the shelves in central Florida would have stock of IPA. Dang him for bending my tonque with 110 IBU rating or so of his English IPA! The brewmaster I refer too? Can't remember his name but I can remember his wife’s name! Jane Whitbeck! Truer words have never been spoken, Brewmaster, “The waiting is the hardest part...†Right. I am counting the days till the Nor’East Rally! A hilarious rendition by Jane’s husband of the sound of music… Doh, A beer, I'll have another beer Ray, the man that sells me beer Me, the guy that drinks the beer Fa, it doesn't rhyme with beer So, I think I'll have another beer La, la la la la beer Tea, no thanks I'd rather have a beer Doh, A beer, I'll have another beer

I paid a visit to Total Wine last week. This is the store that Phil mentioned just opened in Fort Lauderdale. It is pretty impressive. About the size of a supermarket with nothing but beer, wine and liquor. Spent about an hour looking around. I had hoped they might have Long Trail but did not stock. I picked up a few ales from some micro brewery's that I am trying now (Flying Dog, Left Hand, Sea Dog). Good thing I drove the truck down or I would have been hard pressed to fit the beer and wine that I bought on the back of the Speedy. They did stock Saranac root beer which is one of my favorites that I could not find anywhere locally.

LCP, i haven't had one of those in 10 years. the frat where i pledged had a then-recent alumni who happend to be the brewmeister there. on the weekends he would bring us all of the mislabeled and half-filled rejects in the trunk of his car, which we would then partially freeze and take to the hockey game in a sports squeezy. ah, the days...
