Newt,
After a few conversions:
89.9 pence a litre works out to approx
$5.92 a u.s. gallon.

89.9 pence (sterling)is quite cheap over here!!!!

75% of that is goverment tax!!!!!!!

Hey Newt, it's doing it's best to creep back up to $3/gallon up here. 89 Octane is $2.52 at the cheapest place in town (10% Ethanol) and $2.62 anywhere else...

In Brisbane AU it's jumped to about AU$1.20/Litre for basic unleaded and about $1.30/L for premium. In the southern states it's about 10 cents more coz they have some stupid state taxes that we don't. It'll probably drop back to the $1.12/L after easter again tho.

87 octane-2.61
89 " -2.71
91" -2.81
It'll be higher tomorrow .

I know we poke fun a little at you guys for your cheap(er) fuel and I know it was just over a year ago but the most I paid was, I think, $2.05 in Phoenix in Feb '05 and that was thought to be expensive then!!
So $2.70 / 80 ... OUCH!!

(PS: You STILL have it cheaper than us!! )

Here in Tehachapi, 2.91 for 87 oct. I don't remember the news saying anything about a hurricane damageing any production wells off the coast yet. I wonder what excuse they will use this year? Maybe the extra protection needed to keep terrorists at bay. No, they used that the year before last...

I paid $2.69 for regular unleaded at the BP today. Holy smokes! I'm not sure if it's better paying the oil company big whigs or if it would be better paying that in taxes. At least the politicians could then squander it on something meaningful. Yeah, right!

From my calcs. 1 Aussie litre = 0.264 US Gallons
therefor 3.78 Aussie litres = 1 US Gallon
so, we in Qld Australia are paying approx $AU1.20 / litre, the equivalnt is $US3.28 per US Gallon.

Most of our unleaded fuel is 90 RON or better. "Better" is called "premium" and you pay a few cents more for it.
Incidentally, our unleaded fuel makes it really hard to tune our bikes by the spark plug method. I de-snorked and cut chunks out of my air box, and with the rejetting I did, I found that taking the plug out to "read" it was a waste of time. It never changes in colour even if way rich!
YEARS ago when I put a Holly carb on my 253 V8 (YES, I know...that's not a V8! more like a lawn mower engine in America!!) I used the spark plugs as a tuning guide because we had leaded fuel.

$5.43/US gallon for 96 Octane here in Sweden. Predicted to be at $6.30 once the "driving season" kicks in during the summer.
I wouldn´t mind too much some of those terrible stateside prices :-)

$3.13 for Super here in central CT. If you go down on the coast it's probably a little more. I just filled my van with regular and it was $80.

Paid $2.64 for 89 Octane on Saturday. Usually we are way below the national average because of the fuel refineries here but not now.

I filled the bike up on Saturday with $2.64 per gallon 89 octane. Tulsa used to have some of the lowest gas prices because of all the oil refineries here. I'm glad I don't have to buy gas in Sweden. I would probably be riding a 2006 Honda 50cc Step-through, 168 mpg. They just reached the 50,000,000 sales mark since 1958.
