Have any of you driven the Great Ocean Road Victoria Australia on your Triumph or any other bike? It is definitely one of the best driving roads anywhere, I did it in a car pulled over often to let bikers rock on. I did find it funny to see signs about driving on the left, was that for us Ferenors. Yup!!

I live at the upper end of the country so I haven't, but they talk about it constantly in bike magazines here so it must be great[pun intended]

Oh come on, you could fly over and rent a bike. Do it in New Zealand while you're at it.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Now we are down in my neck of the woods, in fact over the next few days(easter holidays) I will be fishing for salmon along this magnificent stretch of road. It is a hard road to describe.. it begs you to ride it hard but the scenery is so spectacular that you have to slow down to enjoy it... dont be fooled though lots of riders have been killed on this road it needs to be treated with respect..if you have a bucket list put it on it...

Peter I would love to have done the loop on a motorcycle but it was not to be and this past Monday when the winds at the top of the lighthouse at Otway Point were 70kph with gusts to 100 would have made for a treacherous ride let alone driving a car. The rest of the loop after leaving the coast at Port Fairy was Halls Gap and then Balarat where I am at this time. All great driving roads and at the end of it there is beer. Best of luck with the lure.

Nah, I'm not as spry as I used to be and my arms get tired quicker. Plus, the Indian is a lot heavier than my America was.

I romanced a blond law student from Melbourne one summer. She was vacationing in the US. She was smart and beautiful, I did go two up on my Bonnie with her. That's as close to the Great Ocean Road Victoria Australia I'll ever get.

Well I would have to say that the state of Victoria is one of the most interesting places I have visited. Melbourne is world class when it comes to big cities old 1800s architecture mixed in with some of the best new structures I have ever seen in one place, its like a competition who can design the best building. Even the 6 storey parking garage in the CBD is stunning. Worth the visit and then rent the MC if you have it in your budget to drive the coastal road.
Usually I can understand the locals they are speaking the same language correct?

Its kind of funny as we are following in our daughters footsteps she did almost the same trip 10 years ago. She however drove the whole coast in a van all the way from Sydney after touring in the south. For those of you that like to travel this is a fantastic place to visit and some of the most friendly we have ever met. And although you may not always understand they all speak English here.
