I got a drone. I figure I must have been good. Life expectancy of the drone is probably very short due to my past experience with anything electrical that flies.

Did a water landing with a helicopter in the recent past. Helicopter #2 had a pilot error and hit hard on asphalt. My wife must be nuts, but she loves me a lot.

Paul you are a good son.

I made out pretty good, lots of gift cards. I'm hard to buy for, I don't need anything. It was a joyous Christmas, whole family was there for a feast of honey bake ham, beef tender loins and all the trimmings. Family is such a blessing.

Actually I got LESS than nothing! We were sitting away from the main room There was 40 residents and about 60 guests for lunch. The residents including my Mum and Aunt got their meals.Everyone else got their meals and they didn't have enough for me and Mums other two guests. After about ten minutes they realised we'd not been served .Ok so a message to the kitchen ,another fifteen minutes and the meals came hot pumpkin, cold potato, warm turkeyThe Xmas pudding was ok. So no presents and a crap Xmas dinner! And you wonder why I hate Xmas? Bah Humbug!

Oh well, I've got the family fortune, although a lot of it has had to go to the nursing home trust.[At least it's gov't so I will eventually get most back].I've got power of attorney over everything.Just a pity I love Mum and my Aunt, and I have a conscience[sort of ]

I've never been one to do much for Christmas and don't expect much either. Lots of family from up north came to visit, can't say I blame them for that. BUT, I won't be seeing any of them next year at this time. I told them that next year I will be spending the Christmas holidays at a nudist resort and that if they wanted to SEE me they can come there. They all told me not to even send a picture Christmas card.

Yeah it was, but it would've played a little better over here in The States if the word "flashlight" had been used instead.

And which now reminds me...

Seein' as how old British cars and motorcycles usually used a Lucas positive ground(earth) electrical system, would ya have to insert the batteries in a "Lucas flashlight(torch)" the opposite way than usual? YOU know, like with the batteries positive-end little "nubs" facing down instead of up?

(...saaaay, maybe THIS is why Stephen can't get his Christmas present to work?...maybe he's got the batteries in it the wrong way???)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

On the '49 Triumph, I used to have to light a match to go see if the lights were still on. The lights took about 2 more amps than the dynamo could make, so it all balanced out at around 4 volts.

The headlight on my T110 did the same back in those days you didn't need headlights in the daytime. Now you do, but then I'd get about 3/4ths of the way to the "Party house"we'd meet at and the light's would dim.put it in third and give it higher revs and the dynamo would pick the lights up. Those were the days.

I got both sorts and some whisky.

Hold my hands up to searching out my radio shack and found an old Japanese Sony wind up flashlight
worked straight out of the 2006 box.
Bit like their motorcycles I guess. :laugh1
