[image] [/image] This is my first "ride". My grandfather gave me this when I was 17 years old, out of the blue. Just asked me if I would like to have it. He had to go talk to my mom first, a hard sell. Cruised all over my local area on it and had a blast that summer. Top speed, about 50, but I didn't care, it was FREEDOM! Broke a small part of the points system at the end of summer, didn't know anything about it, put it away in a series of garages. Finally restored it last year, much nicer than when I first had it. My only regret is my grandfather isn't around to see it again. He would be pleased!

Ooops, forgot to say what is is. A 1958 Cushman Roadking. (One year newer than ME!) They didn't sell that many of this model so they are a little rare. Strangely enough, the earlier "uglier" models are more popular. But I always liked the "updated retro" style of mine, with it's more swoopy lines. Powered by a "necksnapping" 7 horse Cushman "Husky" engine, and an automatic to boot!

I remember one of my uncles use to deliver the mail on one of these . He had a walking route but would use it to get to his route . He would sometimes ride us kids around on it . I think that was my first experience riding on a two wheeled motorized vehicle . Thanks for the memories .
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

My father had a blue Cushman as a "second car" back in the early 1950s. Only rode it on the Air Force base in Panama City.
