This is an important health care issue that we should all take very seriously!

Subject: Shingles and Health Care Cost
WHY OUR HEALTH CARE COSTS ARE SO HIGH!!!
(and I might add, the cost of compliance...)
Kevin had shingles.
Those of us who spend much time in a doctor's office should appreciate this! Doesn't it seem more and more that physicians are running their practices like an assembly line?
Here's what happened to Kevin:

Kevin walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Kevin said: 'Shingles.' So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked Kevin what he had....
Kevin said, 'Shingles.' So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told Kevin to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Kevin what he had. Kevin said, 'Shingles..' So the nurse gave Kevin a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Kevin to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and found Kevin sitting patiently in the nude and asked Kevin what he had.

Kevin said, 'Shingles.' The doctor asked, 'Where?'
Kevin said, 'Outside on the truck. Where do you want me to unload 'em??'

I learned all I need to know about life by killing smart people and eating their brains.
Eat right ,Exercise ,Stay fit, Die Anyway!

In 1990, I noticed a small purple spot on my chest, didn't hurt then, so I blew it off as a bruise. Early the next morning that spot kinda hurt, so I looked at it in the mirror, and it had grown in size and was getting more painful all the time. Later that day it started to feel like someone was intermittently stabbing me with a dull ice pick at the spot, was looking like nothing I had ever seen on my body and I figured I must have been bit by a Brown Recluse Spider or something. So off to the Doctor I go, he looks at it and tells me it's a Shingle, a single Shingle. There are people who come down with hundreds of them at the same time. So I felt like a total whiner, but a single one still hurt like He11. I don't even want to think about a major outbreak and neither does anyone else. Get the shot, if it works PTL, if it doesn't work, at least you tried. And Ian, kudos for the joke, I give it an 8.75, as most good humor has a basis of truth to it.

I had them back in 1977 at the grand old age of 23. I was in flight school and the doctor said it was a reaction to the stress. They went from the middle of my back around the right side almost to my navel. It took a month to get rid of them. I still have scars on my back. A woman I know got them on her face and almost into an eye. She had plastic surgery to remove the scars. Nothing to mess with, get the shot!

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

My grandma got them at about the age of 62. They lasted 8 MONTHS and hurt like hell!
