My 2005 America is running better than new. 3000+ miles since I replaced the rings and a exhaust valve due to a carb float issue. She cruises at 75 mph (indicated), and I'm riding her to work just about everyday. 77,000 miles now.
Looking forward to retirement, but still 6 years away. Sold my 4th vintage bike that I had collected over the years, the last one landed me a $1800 profit that I used to help purchase a 1992 twenty nine foot Motorhome. (talk about expensive, $1200 just for 4 rear tires and 5.1 mpg pulling the bikes!). It's something that me and the wife can do together, as she prepares for a double surgery early next year. My health still good at 56, but my throttle hand goes numb after a short time (throttle lock installed now).
That old America will always be in our family, and will be passed down to the next generations for years to come. She's been a good one!!!

I like sleeping in my own bed when I travel. Motorhomes, leave home without leaving home. I like mine a lot.

I just replaced the floats in my carbs. They were worn.It was running fine when it warmed up but from a cold start the right carb/cylinder ran rough.Running fine now.

It seems we're all getting old.

I throw a tent and sleeping bag on the bike and ride it where I'm going. That's more than I used to do. When I rode to Wyoming on my chopper all I took was the clothes on my back.

At the time a normal sportster tank with shallow tunnel at an angle with the front up high. Didn't hold much gas. After that a king sportster tank went on it and is still on it today. Rode there in 36hrs. Hardtail and long springer. My red chopper that I have posted pictures of here that probably don't show anymore because of photobucket.

My hand went numb until I put larger grips on it. That did the trick. Did the same to my other bike and good to go.
