My 2005 America is running better than new. 3000+ miles since I replaced the rings and a exhaust valve due to a carb float issue. She cruises at 75 mph (indicated), and I'm riding her to work just about everyday. 77,000 miles now.
Looking forward to retirement, but still 6 years away. Sold my 4th vintage bike that I had collected over the years, the last one landed me a $1800 profit that I used to help purchase a 1992 twenty nine foot Motorhome. (talk about expensive, $1200 just for 4 rear tires and 5.1 mpg pulling the bikes!). It's something that me and the wife can do together, as she prepares for a double surgery early next year. My health still good at 56, but my throttle hand goes numb after a short time (throttle lock installed now).
That old America will always be in our family, and will be passed down to the next generations for years to come. She's been a good one!!!
