Anyone going to go see Charlize Theron as a female James Bond like character on Friday? I think she is a good actress. The fact that she is extremely hot doesn't hurt either. I'm making plans to see it.

She was hot in that flick where she was in daytona killing men.

Didn't catch that one. I like "The Italian Job" w Mark Wahlberg and Donald Sutherland as her dad when she was first starting out.

I don't watch this kind of stuff anymore and I liked the Bond stuff back in the day. But the action sequences have become a lot like watching reruns of the "Road Runner and Wiley Coyote" cartoons. The Tom Cruise shows are the worst. Barely believable stunts with improbable stories. Having said that, I DID enjoy the newest King Kong movie with Jackson. Good popcorn movie with no pretense of "this could really happen".

she was pretty well established at that point, go back farther, like Devil's Advocate with Al Pacino

Come on Rich. did't you hear? Tom Cruise does all his stunts himself. Plus I'm not going to go to see a believable story, wonderful life-like stunts and and a well thought out plot. I'm going to see Charlize in leather plain and simple. She is as hot as an OK summer day in July, about a 100 degrees worth.
Yeah, ya got a point. But the only movie I'll go to just to watch a hot chick is Halle Berry. Each to their own, however.

Kidnap was actually an OK movie. Or, is an OK movie.

I'm with Rich on that one. So sick of stupid beyond belief stunts and endless pyrotechnic action. Jumping between 150 floor buildings on a motorcycle while blasting away with a .50 cal machine gun while being blasted at with a German 88mm shoulder mounted cannon from a guy in a helicopter, and then the fireball, oh yeah.

The common link: Monster. Albeit Halle Berry was certainly not a monster in the Monster's Ball scene, "make me feel good", unlike Charlize Theron was in Monster.

`The Italian Job and Monster came out in the same year. The Italian Job was a remake of an old Michael Caine movie, The Italian Job. It's worth watching and yes they drive Minis. Berry and Theron

. I didn't know that about It being a remake. I'm going to look it up and watch it. Definitely going to find Monster. Haven't seen it. I also loved those souped up Minis too. The way they duelled w the police RT's was fun to watch.

In the 1969 Italian Job the Minis are dueling with police Alfa Romeos.

One of my top ten unbelievable stunts was the first Mission Impossible, or as they're called now, "the Tom Cruise show". The tail end of the show where he "flies" a helicopter in a small tunnel chasing the bad guys. I'm no areonautical engineer, but I'm pretty sure that scene is physically impossible. And Halle was in "Monster Ball". I watched one scene a lot. Forwards, backwards, slow mo, pause....over and over and over....

I am amazed how old I am sometimes.I see many remakes of movies that I've seen the original of and think. That wasn't that long ago! The 1969 Italian job for instance 48 Years ago! Planet of the Apes with Charleton Heston 1968.49 Years ago! Hell Easyrider 1969.It seems just a couple of years ago I watched it at the movies!

If one spends much time watching classic movie channels you soon realize how many modern movies are just modernized versions of old ones.

The women in those old Black and White movies were HOT. Make up didn't really work with the old formats and digital remakes and correction were unknown, like it is now, make that extra HOT.

plus I have been a Charlize Theron fan since 2 days in the valley came out.
and I like the air head beemer shots.

Went to see Atomic Blond this afternoon, Was not impressed. Garbled plot and same old action scenes, just a mess IMHO.The Gal was pretty Hot, but that was about it. Alfred Hitchcok would have walked out in the 1st half hour.

Finally saw it today. Charleze looked hot as usual but I'd only give the movie 7 out of 10. The plot is a little hard to follow and very violent and graphic even for me. But I went to see the girl and my expectations weren't that high. I think Halley Barry's movie "Kidnap" which opens tomorrow will be much better. I saw Halle on the tonight show last night. Oh baby. Still smokin hot at 50.
