Looks like it may be a fun little bike, too bad there are no nostalgic engine cues.

I wish Triumph would bring out a smaller Scrambler, 350/500 maybe.

I want to say just more Brand Badge engineering, but look how well it's working for Indian. I guess that goes for Triumph also, but at least Triumph looks the part.

My 70 Lightening doesn't leak
Congratulations, you have the only classic Brit bike in the world that doesn't leak. Except of course for the ones with no oil in them.. Fess up, you took the oil out didn't you? You did didn't you?
It's funny, a trip round the National Motorcycle Museum and you'll see the bikes displayed on pretty white gravel and most of the bikes have little trays under them to catch the oil.
I had my regular newsletter this week and they're offering ride outs on classic bikes again. They do it a few times a year. My ultimate fave: Brought Superior SS100 = £750 for the day Not bad for a £1/4m bike

Ya know, it's fuuny, I think there really are "Friday" bikes. My 70 Lightning never leaked once I went through it (except the oil I get out of the breather). I have seen them leak badly and I have seen them like mine with no leaks. I have Triumphs that leak and that don't leak. Both my 50s bikes leak my 66 never leaked, one of my 72 Bonnies leaks and the other doesn't. Ultra black stops them from leaking in most cases but not all.

On the first factory tour I went on (must've been '04 - '05 or something), they joked "you won't get a Friday bike anymore ... we don't work Friday afternoon! hahahahaha" Oh how we laughed!!
mmm I guess there are people getting Friday 'morning' bike then (or whatever the equivalent shortened day they're working out in the far east!!)

Sounds like an English Friday would be the same as an American Wednesday...
Monday you are hung over from the weekend. Tuesday is a little better. Wednesday you are fully recovered. Thursday you are dreaming of the weekend. And Friday you are already on weekend mode, and rush through everything so you can leave.
As far as I am concerned, I have a Wednesday Bonneville America. It is great fun, and gives me no problems. I had a Speedmaster prior to this. I bought it from a co-worker, and it was my first bike. I love the air cooled Bonne series of bikes. I can't really see myself getting a newer liquid Bonne.

I'd like to try out a 1200. I've got a Guzzi V9 now cause the riding position suits me better than cruiser. My legs were aching. The Guzzi is a fun little bike and there in lies the problem. It's little. Only 843cc. I want something with a bit more welly.

Not quite. A Friday bike here also often means it's a pos.

I dunno, seems I remember bike salesmen being required to wear crape soled shoes to sop up the oil under new bikes that have never had oil in them since they were drained for shipment.
I considered it a theft countermeasure on my '49 Triumph. The frame was too slippery to be able to pick it up and toss it in a truck.
