Looks like they are testing a Speedy or America to be launched in the autumn. Speedmaster spied.

That doesn't look very impressive. I hope that the final versions look a lot better.

They usually do look better in the flesh. I'm glad to see it as a possibility and I'm hoping they don't give it some tacky name like 'the chopper"

I'd almost given up hoping for this but now I can plan my retirement pressie! Twin discs, 1200 cee cees, Bobber frame, looks like a LED headlight, gaiters. Patience is a virtue, tried a new 1200 tex last weekend but couldn't get fired up about it now I don't have to have any more sleepless nights trying to make up my mind. Just gonna have to decide the colour, and have a test ride on the T120 so I know what to expect from that lovely looking motor.

My dilemma starts.I wasn't going to get a bigger bike.I was just going to keep my[very capable, and actually all I need] America and perhaps one day do a BB.I already told the bike, it has a home for life so I don't want to go back on what I said, but now,how to have my cake and eat it? My America will stay alone for a couple more years.I was going to buy a 650 Kawasaki in Thailand,I'm pretty near certain that will now be on hold, and start saving like hell for the 1200 Cruiser. There's room in the Garage for the America and 1200 cruiser.I've been wishing and hoping for this for a long time.

Beat me too. I deleted my other post. I went to the launch of the Bobber and thought it looked small till I sat on it. Lets see what they do with it. I am still in love with my America even though I have also gotten a Rocket. It is nice to know this will happen and see it evolve over the next couple years. I think the reporter was bias in calling it a Speedmaster. I think Triumph should call it the Bobberett.

Well Triumph can just get busy and offer a new 3rd generation Speedy for 2018. I'm ready. As an after thought, offer some colour packages too. Since there might not be any America tins available that will cross over and fit.

This is basically a bobber with dual seat etc.I don't mind the bobber but I would prefer an America or Speedy as they look now but a 1200 engine. We'll just need to see what Triumph's final product is although the bobber spy shots were pretty close to the finished bike.

It just looks very VStar 650ish to me.

That Mule has the Thunderbird LT/Commander seat. Maybe the most comfortable stock on the market

With a bit of Honda 600 VLX thrown in,but that 1200 engine would be something.

Well, that's no bad thing ...about the only good things on my TBird LT were the seat and screen, especially the screen....just the right height and angle for me. Now, if they'd just slide an America with the new 1200 engine under the seat....

I've always liked the look of the twin shocks on the rear end vs the single shock on this unit. Should handle fine though.

I like the hardtail look but I think twin shocks dampen the bumps better.

I prefer the twin shock look( can't get used to rear ends, at least on bikes, which have no visible means of support.)

The Honda I had in Thailand had a monoshock and hard tail look. It's ok but I like twin shocks better myself.I don't know how big the rider is on this but the bike looks pretty small. The bobber is quite small anyway I guess, and this looks the same front end etc. I don't see why they couldn't just offer the America/Speedmaster in it's current form but with a 1200 engine. It'd be perfect for me.Anyway all will be revealed as they say.

I would really like to see a 19" and 17" spoke rims on it. Also, I think that the new header/exhaust combo kills the look of the bike. I would really like to see headers and exhaust like the ones we have.

I am slightly surprised that this new bike is/will be coming out. Although, with the Bobber being a single seater, Triumph "needed" a two-upper. I really thought the Bobber was the replacement for our bikes. Maybe it still is? Maybe it is a Speedmaster replacement?
So, for my wants, I would like the bike in the photos, wire wheels and dual discs, but with a longer rear fender, fuller front fender, and full length pipes, like our bikes have. I have Specialty Spares long straight cut pipes on my BA. That is what I would like on the new bike too.
Now, I wonder if the Tsukayu hard bags will look "right" on the new fenders???
Oh, and it needs a blue and white paint job...

Also, I wonder what this will do to the value of our bikes, and the rest of the air cooled line? Will the prices actually come down? Or, will the retards try jacking up the prices "because they are classics"?
If the prices start to come down, I might actually be able to get that '07 Scrambler I have been pining over since '09...

I tried a Bobber for size at the dealer open day and it was a lot smaller then my America I felt, it does have a small fuel tank could be just that. I'm not keen on the fake carbs either on the new Bonneville's. I can live with the fake air cleaner on my America but the fake carbs are a bit much for me.

Have to say the size concerns me too...I'm 6 ft 3 ins and the America fits me well....I was hoping the road tester in the photos was a giant.

The best thing about my America is it is a full size bike and still relatively light weight for a cruiser. The only thing I don't like is the power. The 1200 would take care of that.

UI like the bigger tank on the prototype. 2.4 gallons won't get you far except bar to bar.

Well that should make a lot of people on this site happy. People have been asking for a bigger engine forever. Or will we continue to hear the same old complaints? The old tank style was better, air cooled is better than water cooled blah blah blah...

If that's a Speedmaster, I'm not too impressed. I like the looks of mine much better, especially the cast wheels. As others have mentioned, we'll see what the final product looks like. I do like the dual disks and of course, 1200cc!

PES you're right. People just love to have something to complain about. When you look at the variety of machines on this site you realise that EVERBODY has their own idea of what makes the perfect machine and no-one can resist changing theirs to suit themselves, so from that point this new America/Speedie is no different to the previous models. We'll all have a tinker to add those personal touches, but this will be more fun with 1200c.c. to play with.

Yes it was,I love my 2007 old style tank, but there has been a couple of times[not too many] where another couple of litres of fuel would have been welcome.
