Any reason I can't simply slot in resistor kit as advertised on eBay.....but , for now, leave a the unplugged O2 plugs in situ? Just thinking about a number of options and this might be a useful temporary fix for he fuelling snatch

I read that if you leave the O2 sensors plugged in without power to them they will carbon up and self destruct.
Check on the Triumphrat site, heaps of information on there in regards to EFI bikes.

when you take them out, make sure you mark them (right/left) and their mating plugs in the event you want to put them back. There is even a conveniently provided spot behind the steering head to stow the remaining sensor wires.
you will need to turn off the O2 sensors in the ECU as well or it will cause a check engine light to be on.

Thanks...... appreciated........I had naively hoped I could avoid the mysteries of tune ecu...but this looks unlikely now. It's that low speed snatch that irritates. There's a chap on the RAT forum reckons on reducing this by reducing final chain slack to 13-15mm ( whatever a millimetre is..damn foreigners)....sounds a bit radical to me...anyone here tried it? If so, do you still have an intact crankcase?

On the wifes 2012 SM, I tried a handful of remedies to address that low speed surging. Including adjusting the chain, both tighter and looser, even re-gearing. I played with the tune and was able to make it better but not entirely fix it. (see the tune section) after mucking around with it for way too long, the final fix for it was to buy a pieman tune, loaded that and all good.

Worth knowing....thanks........I suspect I'll end up doing just that.....meantime I have a road trip to do two up on it so didn't want to mess too much with it till we get back.
